Honestly what do you guys think? Cool or Lame? Do you guys run tubeless or tubes and why.
ОтветитьI know this is older post but came up while researching tire plugs. What I have found is every time I see a test for tire plugs the tire still has air pressure. In a real world setting when you get a puncture that large by the time you realize it, stop and get the plug kit out the tire is dead flat. It is much harder to insert a plug on a flat tire and not hit the rim tape inside and tear that up. I would like to see this repair done on the trail with a completely flat tire. I'm thinking you have to squeeze the tire to give it resistance when inserting the plug tool. Then you have to air it up quite a bit to force the sealant into the plug.
ОтветитьAfter reading several comments, is the issue people are having with the fabric falling off due to the fact that the puncture was too small? I believe these plugs are for larger punctures, and that bacon strips work better with smaller punctures. Just a thought. Cheers
ОтветитьThanks for the video. very helpful.
ОтветитьI was just on the road Continental GP 5000, had a puncture and tried the dart. Nope! Upon pushing the dart in with the tool, the dart kept sliding up to the root of the dart tool. The tool would not push the plug into the tire. Tried both sides three times.
ОтветитьI’ve tried the darts twice and the tip broke off and the fabric fell off👎
ОтветитьStay away from this. Totally useless. Instead of actually getting into the tire, the "fabric" falls of the small plastic arrow. Tried 6 of them, did not work.
ОтветитьSeems the refills don't work as well the original darts have a white tip! And the refills have a clear see through coat! The refills wouldn't seal a 5mm cut! The material will just fly off and the dart would just slip right through! Horrible
ОтветитьCan buy the refills and use a standard bacon strip fork to poke it in?
ОтветитьThey changed the design of this so it doesn't work. No relevant barbs on the dart so the material doesn't go in. 0-5 with me.
ОтветитьYou are showing us a real test, looks like a great ptoduct!
ОтветитьSearching how to convert to tubeless was how I found your channel. I carry the darts and they work but I've only used one in the shop just to test it out and like you I had to make a rather abnormally large hole since when I was poking screwdrivers through my tire they kept sealing up before I could push a plug into them. For the riding I do Stan's sealant seems to have made a 100% reduction in punctures even here in goathead city. 5 flats the first month I got my bike Last February and converted in early March of 2020 with not a single flat since with 3,000 miles
ОтветитьIs this going to work with Muc off no puncture tubless sealant?
ОтветитьWhat sealant do you use? Does it work with orange Seal???
Ответитьhow many plugs having for repair?
ОтветитьLooks like a great product... may seem like a silly question but I’d assume the fabric would activate with any sealant wouldn’t it? I use orange sealant.
ОтветитьGood idea although i havn't had a puncture since going tubeless. you still need a tube and patch for those bigger slashes.
ОтветитьGreat tool and all but the real question is, where on earth did you get that pocket knife that says M A R I N on it?! I need to know!
ОтветитьHere 100k subs later
ОтветитьThink they would work with traditional insertion rods? Like what you see on the one up edc? Would be cool to replace the bacon strips but not use their insertion part.
Ответитьwhy you dont let the tyre get flatted and stop the air with your finger! It's out of real world your video!
ОтветитьThanks. I've had good luck on the road too with this. You do know you have 2 already mounted? Unscrew and spin the black holder part to reveal another plug, ready for use.
ОтветитьWhat sealant did you have in the tyre?
ОтветитьAlready to much plastic in nature 👎
ОтветитьDon’t forget the valve core tool on the end.
ОтветитьI like how you just got all stabby with it. That's a real test!
ОтветитьLooks awesome. Just ordered. Bacon strips suck in a hurry.
ОтветитьWould it work with a completely flat tire?
ОтветитьThough I have tubeless, I ride with a tube in case I get a flat. This item, though, has me rethinking this.
Is Stan's DART so good that I'll never need a tube?
Good review! Just bought mine at performance bicycle online. PROMO CODE KYLEMTB didn’t work though.
Ответитьthat's kewl as ...SHI .... wow that's a very nice product ....
DUDE I FINALLY GOT MY EMAIL AND COMPLETED WITH SKYDIO !! I'll be driving over there soon !! MuhhhhaaaaHHHaaaaHaaaa !!
