Very strange to me that they use states for control "cities" (Indiana and Iowa). I wonder why AASHTO decided on that.

I thought ISP district 15 was out by 294 in Des Plaines.

I noticed the overpasses were painted yellow. When I was a kid, we used to travel the Tri-State Tollway on our way to Wisconsin, and all of the overpasses were painted green, as were most of the overpasses on Interstate 57.

One of the reasons, I think why the Spring Creek Plaza near New Lenox and Lockport is so expensive is that it is not a busy area as of yet.  Maybe the extra money helps pay off the debt that the Illinois Tollway owes to its bankers for the construction of I-355.  When the debt is paid off, and when things start to pick up with traffic, maybe that southern extension will be much cheaper.  I know it is complicated to understand, but it is really something to think about.

Just my personal opinion, but I feel as if Chicago is one of the few areas (alongside Houston) to achieve a perfect level of sprawl. It's weird saying that, but it's what I think. All these freeways and development. Great! Gives the area a sense of superiority.

355 has taken on a whole new meaning in my life! I work in Downers Grove(near the 355 Split), live in Wheaton(accessible off of IL-38) and take the 88 ramp to go to my parents down south every week.
