Personally, I don't feel like the verses are connected to the passages very well, and that they are pretty weak. But, that absolutely incredible drum sound just throws every negative thing that I can say about this song out of the window, it's just too good!!

I cry every time I listen to this. My parents were scientists and my mother worked extremely hard but got Frontal temporal dementia around age 65 and passed away a couple years ago. This song is about the people who work too hard for science, and it is by far the most overwhelming song for me to listen to. The sound and atmosphere feel forward thinking mixed with a somber sunset

Tried and true Okie who has been watching the Lips since the late 80s…cut to 1999 and this album comes out. My god, it hit my future head with melodic bombast and joy. Wayne, Steve and company created what’s gone down as their seminal album. Kevin Parker didn’t bring me here, but he did prove he has exceptional taste. Keep on keepin’ on guys.
