BUT, all before that this game pumped so much adrenaline through my body as well as my outfit's. We had just swung over from TacOps (an Unreal Counterstrike clone - way better) and once we hit our first major battle we were addicted. Battlefield 2 was the gap filler of course (and eventually the replacement - see prior mentioning of game killer).

Nowadays we're a full generation of gamers separated. Too many gamers want instant gratification and don't care about social aspects in the real or online world (relating to gaming communities). Games have on average 6 months or a year of strong commitment by the gamers themselves...

But probably because new games are mostly shit anyhow. And the good little gems don't get the population needed. Just look at Boogaloo Double Action. Total retro arcadie fps with some amazing twists ans with plenty of twitch play that should rival Day of Defeat...

I got into this game 2003, I became addicted, many hours playing the game. At on time as many weekends, I played many days in a row, I even took vacation days just to be able to play long hours. The music in the background was the inspiration that drove me into playing the game for so many years. Made many friends and straight to the end, I continued playing. Then I tested the new Planetside2. Was not the same. Lost the feeling but the memories of Planetside are still fresh. And a hand full of friends are still around that will never change they are: DarkDigiLord, Coldman, Domert, Iraski. My characters were: Archie-NC and Archiefalcon-VS. Solong Planetside, thanks you for the many years.

Oh man the memories.. Unfortunately I don’t care for PS2 too much, but still “LOYALTY UNTIL DEATH!” also rest in piece TotalBiscuit

Such great memories.. before BFR’s anyway.... representing NC Army of One outfit - thanks To Ninjablaze , Crest and the crew... Those Galaxy Drops were some of the best moments in my gaming history.

the sequel is a shadow of the original. the Original is F2P but has like zero population from what I've heard.

A punch in the feels, but for some reason this is a little sped up?

I remember one time we fought for a bridge for a week straight 24/7 , I would logout and login same position, NC won that bridge battle that time

This game meant so much to me, I still remember playing this at 3am on my dial-up modem on the north American server emerald, this was the first online game I really fell in love with. Although Planetside 2 still exist, I really miss the original Planetside, I even have the original Planetside and Planetside: Core Combat CD's.

Pure nostalgia. I'll never forget this game and the people I played with. It was absolutely a one of a kind experience.

Hearing this OST again is big feels. I remember summer vacation being so hyped to wake up and get ahead of the day's big battle, refueling VS bases and talking in command.

I remember playing this game. This was my first pc game ever and i must say it truly is a great game.

This song is bittersweet for me. Game was always niche, but it's getting harder and harder to find videos of gameplay. Hell it's getting hard to find screenshots of this game. There are generations now who never experienced and don't know this game. Some day, this game will be forgotten forever.

But it's some of my most formative gaming experiences. It's been around through various phases of my life. It does make up a core part of who I am and for that I will always be grateful.
