Back in the 90’s I swapped a 12a Wankel transmission and rear differential into a Triump Spitfire, I like to think of it as a British car that actually worked and was turn key reliable. If I were to do a swap right now, I’d swap the XC90 V8 into my 2001 Volvo V70XC and mate it up to either a m55 or m66 gearbox. Yup, that’s the swap unlike to do. Other options would be throw the Yamaha V8 perhaps with a turbo into a Miata. That could also be fun.

My buddy who builds race engines told me recently that SR20's and JZ engines cost the same now that they did 10 years ago. And they're all old and tired, you'll basically have to rebuild it when you buy it. Hopefully these new engines start to gain some traction.
