Would you recommend wonder of the seas or the scarlet lady for a combined bachelor + bachelorette cruise? For 20s and early 30s.
I know, weird concept. I’ve tried oasis class but never virgin.

We came off VV in Feb. not for us. The food was ok but not great. We did not like the entertainment and only went to two shows. No nickel and dining to death which was nice but we will not do VV again.

We are on a 14 day explora 2 cruise. Best cruise of the 37 i have done over most lines over 20 years.
This line made me remember what cruising used to be.
Best food, Best service i can ever remember

None of the negatives outweigh the best feature of Virgin Voyages- no kids.

I am doing a Virgin cruise next summer in the Western Med. I chose them because they have an overnight in Ibiza, a bucket list destination for me. I tried to find another cruise line with such a stop there, but just couldn't. I am also looking forward to the fact that Virgin is adults only.

We took our first Virgin Voyages cruise at the end of April on Valiant Lady and stayed in the Massive Suite. We’ve cruised in large suites on other lines before, so we were excited to try Virgin based on everything we’d heard and seen.

Overall, the suite was nice, but not quite on par with others we’ve experienced, especially for the price. I don’t mean to sound picky — Virgin includes a lot of perks — but there are definitely better suite experiences out there for the same money. The ship itself had a very modern vibe, though the design reminded me a bit of something you’d find at IKEA.

The food was a mixed bag for us. Some meals were good, some horrible, and we did end up with food poisoning on day two, which dampened things a bit. It wasn’t quite the culinary standout we were hoping for based on the hype.

The highlight for us was definitely relaxing at Richard’s Rooftop.

The ship seemed like an adults-only party ship, but in a fun, grown-up way (definitely not a Carnival-style party vibe). The spa was fine, and our Rockstar Agent was fantastic — super helpful throughout the trip. One thing that left a bad taste, though: we were interested in having a bottle of bourbon in the room that we knew retails for about $45 (and was stocked on board), but they wanted to charge us $300 for it. The cost felt excessive and like they were trying to squeeze every extra dollar they could out of us. All in all, we’re glad we tried it, but don't think we’d sail with Virgin again.

You’re doing the galley wrong… just find a seat and raise the red flag… someone comes to your table and you order whatever you want and they bring it to you.

I love the fact that there is no unlimited alcohol package. Limits the amount of stupidly drunk people roaming around the ship trying to “get yer moneys worth” out of a package. Unless you drink a ton every day and don’t have many port days you are better off with the bar tab anyway

looks good. My wife and daughter did Virgin at some off-peak time, actually only cost around 70pppd, and they loved it, said the food was awesome. Maybe it was around 8-12 months ago.

The bar tab can get you up to 25% of the price of drinks! That's not minimal

I think you accidentally called your cabin a cabinet! 😂
Really helpful review, especially the final comparison of prices against competitors. I have not tried VV but based on all the negatives mentioned here I probably won’t.

Great video and balanced analysis of the VV cruise. I was on the same cruise as it was our first VV cruise. We didn’t get to all the venues and shows but we did do, you are on target. We had the entry level Rockstar suite and it came with some nice VIP perks, just not sure it’s worth it. Overall, we enjoyed our first VV cruise and are planning a second cruise (4-5 days) with a group. Our two biggest suggestions for VV was dining reservations and the non-existent waitlist and secondly, Bimini wasn’t that nice; even in the Rockstar area. BTW, we easily spent a $350 bar tab and we aren’t heavy drinkers. The Rockstar suites come with a fully stocked bar so we brought most of bottles home.

You can also request that the bed be converted to the couch each day if you like. It's on the tablet.

My colleague is just on one now in the med. He says it’s good, but not as good as Celebrity.

Virgin not doing any drink packages is the biggest thing that keeps me away. The 'bar tab' thing has always been a joke, and now for prices per drink to have increased too, when they made a point originally of saying they'd be more reasonably priced? Sorry, you can make the food as good as you want - if I'm going on an adults-only cruise with my friends, I need drinks and lots of them.
