Mario Party 9 - Free-for-All minigame - Smash Compactor

This minigame was probably influenced by the musical chairs game. To get to a glowing manhole lid in the ground before your opponents do is the goal of the game. In addition to jumping, punching, and kicking to make space for themselves, competitors can also attack their opponents. There will be one fewer glowing hole than players for each round. The lids open and the characters fall to safety after the allotted amount of time has passed. The player who has not found a safe zone will be squished by the compactor and eliminated. The winner is the person who is left.

Mario Party is a party video game series featuring characters from the #Mario franchise in which up to four local players or computer-controlled characters compete in a board game interspersed with minigames. The series is known for its party game elements, including the often unpredictable multiplayer modes that allow play with up to four, and sometimes eight, human players or CPUs.
