We Were Soldiers (2002) 4K UHD Blu-ray Review!

Did this ever get a regular blu ray release? If so, i may just check that one out

Definitely picking this up. However, another wasted opportunity without ATMOS to make this movie sound amazing and bummer the picture quality isn’t up to par as it should be.

War films are my favorite genre and I will pick this one up during a sale. Since it wasn't done with the full treatment I can't pay full price

Excellent movie 🎬, Adam i have commented in the past being a Army Veteran. Was proud to have served as a 11B, In the 75th Rangers Regiment.

My 20+ years at FORT BENNING and now namesake of the movie FORT Moore.
Us old time Rangers with still call it FORT Benning, the new generation of Rangers can call it FORT Moore. If the name had to be changed, I accept Moore as a good choice.

Granted the room is 15 by 25
And setting 12 feet from 85 inch 4K tv
Two 10 inch in front left and right. 12 inch in the middle under the coffee table. Had to raise the table 2 inch for the sub to fit. And two 12 inch in the rear, it took a little to adjust the volume to make it sound as one .
The first movie with the 5th Subwoofer was the remake of Twister

I really hate Paramount so many missed opportunities to make it right at least in the audio department Collateral,shooter and so many more,really stupid and sad

So disappointed they didn't add Atmos...

Should have had 4K scan & Atmos, will look for sale

How the hell is there no Atmos on a movie like this.

Thanks Adam. I think a very underrated war film. I’m a little disappointed that it’s not a big upgrade over my real old Blu-ray. I guess I’ll get it eventually. Appreciate it as always

One of my fav films of all time Adam, as soon as I heard this was getting a 4K I was hoping for the best, gutted with the bit rates & not being a true native with Atmos. I honestly hoped that Parafails had improved from it's past lessons but with not giving Once upon a time a 100GB disc which it deserved. But I'll be happy to own it as an upgrade over my blu..Do you honestly feel it's worth the upgrade????think for the HDR etc it would be... Hope all is well Adam...👍

I love this movie and I did pre-order it. I can't wait to check it on 4k. 👍

Decent movie. As VN vet I already have it on DVD. I may pick up the 4K if on sale on an Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, etc.

I have to say im not a fan of this movie

While I have real problems with Mel Gibson's antisemitism I don't deny his talent as an actor and a director. We Were Soldiers is an excellent movie based on the book co-authored by Lt. General Hal Moore and Joe Gallagher. It brutally shows the beginning of America's heavily increasing involvement in Vietnam. I've always been struck by, after the battle is over and he is surveying the field and recovering his dead troops, the North Vietnamese commander says: "Such a tragedy. They will think this was their victory. So this will become an American war. And the end will be the same, except for the numbers who will die before we get there." It was truly prophetic.
