How to Install Mirror Dash Cam WITHOUT Straps (Direct Mount Conversion Kit for LCD Mirror)

I can’t stand thins that strap to my mirror. I would rather replace the whole mirror. I have tried things that strap to the mirror and for me they just don’t work. They keep falling off. Especially when I am off-roading. Going over rocks mud and down bumpy roads. And they always fall off at the worst time and one time nearly caused me to wreck.

Thanks Todd. I was looking for this video, I saw it sometime before but lost it. I am planning to install a Woldbox 900 in a 2018 Honda CRV. This model of SUV has a plastic cover over the rear view mirror bracket. You cannot see the bracket. My last investigation is if I can remove this cover to access the mirror bracket to replace with adapter.

I removed the mounting strap brackets and used a 3M mounting adhesive pad to stick it to the front of the original mirror, simple and effective, 9 months on no vibrations no overheating, no need for a bracket.

I wish I had seen this before I made my mirror dashcam purchase decision. I was determined to not use straps so that limited my choices severely. I wanted one that had Apple CarPlay capability, but I couldn't find any that mounted directly to mirror bracket, so I just decided to live without it. If I had seen this video first, I'd have had far more to choose from and could have gotten exactly what I wanted. 😭

When I tried the strap method, it shakes very much to the point of inducing a head ache. Will mounting it as shown in the video reduce/eliminate the shaking as though it were the original rear view mirror?

I dont think there is any adapter for attaching it for my car, 1st gen mini cooper s. You turn it clockwise and its loose. Turn it back and clicks in. Could you help? Ive got pics and there are yt vids abt removing the specific mirror
