I think de b450 motherboards will be compatible with this ryzen 3 gen, recently (3 days ago) Asus upgrade the bios of his b450 motherboards and in the change log says that's a update for the upcoming processors

I don't feel too bad about having to buy a new Mobo, especially if it will allow the new processor to work at it's limit. Sure they promised it, but I can imagine if there was even some way for a B350 would work for the 3rd generation processors they would be hindered. Anyway, it's just a great excuse to build a whole new system. I'll need one soon anyway, I think.

Buying AMD is voting for innovations and reasonable prizing and competition. Nvidia and Intel are doing their best to destroy competition. While this might sound AMD fanboy comment, it's just based on three decades in tech business.

Ryzen is killing it, even on gaming and Windows. But in Linux its performance is outstanding. In the future the performance will be even better when compilers began optimizing better for Ryzen, with better microcodes, with updates to OS kernels and with programmers learning to get more out of these CPUs.

Before giving your money to Nvidia or Intel, please research how they have tried to kill competition and innovation. Those companies have done their best to buy tech sites, vloggers, bloggers etc. to promote their products and more importantly, dismiss others. This is like cancer in tech business. Lets kill the cancer!

Im thinking ill give it to this Gen of Ryzen and upgrade to an ITX board, but if the option isn't appealing im probebly heading to Intel for next. But i truly hope and like AMD because i dont like intel buisness.

I think Intel understands Amdahls law a little better than AMD. The stone cold fact is that per thread performance matters, a lot. And we're already nearing the point of no gains for adding more cores since for general computing anything past 16 threads is wasted and close or at the point of getting no further gains by adding more. The only exception is the types of highly threaded applications that 99.9% or more of people don't use. This is also exactly why all of AMD's hype revolved around showing demos of rendering applications that most people don't need or care about but can take advantage of far more threads. There's also a hard limit even in those applications although we're nowhere near that since it's around 256 threads before you hit diminishing returns. Per thread speed matters people, and it's only going to matter more and more, and this is where Intel absolutely spanks AMD.

i would love it is AMD started of a press conference by boldly proclaiming that their plans for the year included ripping Intels guts out and to then repeatedly kick them in the face as they lay on the ground in a ball trying to stuff their guts in again...


then reveal a 5+Ghz Ryzen drop the mic like literally.... then regret it and pick it up again and just add "Oh and where coming for you next Nvidia" then drop it again and walk of the stage...


Then i would probably start buying intel hardware because with only two actors on the market i tend to wanna support the underdog to ensure future developments... (as i have little trust AMD would not act like intel and just not give a fuck about innovation and instead go full on price gouger if faced with no significant competitor.
