The Ford Explorer is an American icon. With over 8.4 million units sold since 1991, the Explorer is the best-selling SUV in America.

Introduced in 1991 to replace the Bronco II- there have been 6 major generations of the Explorer ranging from a truck based body-on-frame SUV to the 5th gen being FWD (AWD available) loosely based on the full size Taurus sedan.
The current generation launching in 2020 had the platform go back to a RWD based platform, updated the exterior and interiors and engine lineup. -
