I have some Irish and Welsh ancestry so all this is interesting to me
ОтветитьIrish
ОтветитьI prefer finvarra also known by the titles the fairy king of knockfierna, the king of the daoine sidhe, and lastly the ruler of the dead he is one of the many deities with a physical item that represents him that item is the coin and as I'm a greedy peace of crap I much prefer the irish version of the ferry man from greek mythology to either of those deities and plus... coin go brrrrrr
ОтветитьCelts are the tribes that would become the races that inhabit the islands that are now the British Isles.
ОтветитьPreferably the Morrigan
ОтветитьNative we are all Celtic mongrels. my tribe is trinovanti the vigorous ones. budicca was born trinovanti before marriage into iceni tribe. Then we burnt those Romans after Colchester my native town/city
ОтветитьJokes on you I am Celtic of the o’donghaile clan
Ответитьmorgan
ОтветитьMorgan, only goddess of death to my knowledge who canonically was seduced into not allowing the seducer to die and rescinding her previous prophecy for seeing their death
ОтветитьDoes Scottish count
ОтветитьThe Morrison because she’s got the The
ОтветитьThe Morrison for sure
ОтветитьScottish not British ffs
ОтветитьI'd worship the Mórrígan, no doubt. The other one is just one god, but the Mórrígan is three gods in a trench coat.
ОтветитьStars backwards is even more interesting
ОтветитьNot British.Fuck the union. The fight isn’t over until all celts are free
ОтветитьProbably think that they share responsibilities and they meet up every now and then when dealing in their souls
ОтветитьFun Fact Again
Halloween's toots date back to ancient Irish celebration of Oiche Shamhna
Meaning yall stole my holiday
Not sure which I would follow, but it must have caused an awful lot of confusion between the two of them since arán in Irish literally means bread
ОтветитьIrish
ОтветитьLMAO AS AN IRISH PERSON “ARAN” MEANS BREAD IN IRISH LOLLLL (I don’t think I slept it right cuz I suck at spelling-) 😭
ОтветитьWell yea lol thats kinda common knowledge,
ОтветитьGawds here come the descendants of Celtic gods viking warriors and druids priests 🤣🤣🤣😂
ОтветитьThe British are not celts
ОтветитьI mean- I’m welsh so I doubt I’d have a choice tbh
ОтветитьInd Mórrígan is not mythically the same as Arawn. Two separate gods. Furthermore, there is no such thing as "British mythology". It's mainly Irish and Welsh with some Scottish folklore.
ОтветитьYou got guts to talk about Celtic AND NOT PUT SCOTLAND ON IT! (THAT’S MY COUNTRY) , it’s not UK without us
ОтветитьAlso mythical fun fact:
In the Czech Republic (Heart of the mainland European Celtic tribes/Last ones standing in mainland Europ) we still, despite christianization (Stuck with us only for political reason - Noone liked it) have a tradition in Prague, where people make a black female doll and throw it burning into the river (Moldau/Vltava) after every winter. The doll symbolizing the great Morán (Symbol of death) and us getting rid of her at the end of winter.
Noone really know what's the story behind it, it's just a tradition we do.
Some believe her to be an evil witch from the medical times and this being a Christian tradition. But it's more likely that this is one of our few Celtic traditions - The goddess of death Morgan (Moran) being sent on her way after her rign has ended.
The celtic contry are also Galicia and bretagne in Spain and France . In bretagne we have l'Ankou .
ОтветитьWell, given that I am of mixed Scot and Irish decent (with a bunch of other European too) I'll be a Gael.
ОтветитьI think you mean Irish, ENGLISH, Welsh and you didnt even mention Scottish! They are all. BRITISH! You need to do your homework better! Youre just confusing Americans that dont know the difference. When a blind man leads a blind man, both fall into a pit.
ОтветитьSo the question is would I rather be killed by a man or a woman?
ОтветитьThe Gaul to skip Brittney & only talk about the Isles man
ОтветитьMoragain may bless you, but she may also demand the heads of your enemies as an offering, live the triple goddess
ОтветитьI am celtic im Irish so
ОтветитьNot British/Britain. The people back in England back then were called Britons.*
ОтветитьHi, someone called Arawn here, pronunciations off but you're otherwise correct I'd say :)
ОтветитьYep.
ОтветитьIrish, British, welsh are all one culture!
ОтветитьLooking forward to see what lyra can do on raw
ОтветитьI am Celtic and I prefer the Lives of the Celtic Saints.
ОтветитьCame to the comments just to see uk people and irish people talking about lore wars since its offensive to ask and find out that way lol
ОтветитьBritish makes more sense because the English are mainly Celtic, the saxon myth was propagated in victorian times to differentiate the upper class "saxon English" from the "celtic fringes".
Ironically its now mainly propagated in reverse by "pure Celtic peoples" to differentiate them from the "Germanic invaders".
Genetic, linguistic, historic, cultural etc evidence says this simply isn't true. It was a false narrative when the upper class Victorians used it and its a false narrative now.
The masses have always been majority mongrels, especially in Scotland and England. Wales does have a particularly strong celtic DNA but tbh blood purity is quite a disgusting measure of anyone really.
Morrigan
ОтветитьI prefer Morrigan
ОтветитьI am of celtic desent
ОтветитьIrish also have the god Donn as the deity of death. Yes, Celtic obviously includes several cultures.
ОтветитьMorgan isn't the goddess of death
Donn is the god of death the Morgan is a warrior queen who was accepted as a diety due to her success she is known for starting wars and creating a frenzy during a fight she is also known as the bringer of death.
She is our version of the grim reaper
The morrígan easy
ОтветитьI’m Welsh so I’m really fuckin biased
Ответить
