Thank you for the truth about it all. I am 52. I love a smokey eye, my signature look for going out. Now, but I don't have time to do an hour plus that may or may not come out great. I basically do what you did. I add some smoke on the outer lid, then Tightline my upper and lower eye to add definition and pop. I finish with a lot of mascara because when your eyelashes are thick, well, on my face, you can not see the hood anymore.

Are these old repeated videos??? I feel like i learnt this technique from Wayne yeeears ago.

I use an ombre technique lightest eyeshadow on the inside, to mid tone on the middle, darkest on the outside. All over the lid. Looks lovely. I tight line and use a tubing mascara. Looks fab, I still get to enjoy eyeshadow. I don't need to just write off using eye makeup.

Curious, why not put a bit of powder on bottom lash line? I know this is old and Wayne won’t see it. My eyes have been hooded my entire life but at 65, suddenly my old tricks don’t work. I had to give up lash extensions even as my lid pushes lashes down. I’ll try the brightening trick but why not a bit of brown liner on bottom 3rd?

Bugs me enough that I’m tempted for a blah but can’t really afford it.

My problem is needing to do litteral 5 minute makeup, because I never have the time. LOL But yeah, with mature hooded eyes I don't bother anymore with eyeshadow.

However the 38 degree mascaras are a life saver! I just wish brands would say explicitly what is just waterproof and what is 38 degrees. It means a mascara that you can rinse off with 38 Celcius water, which means warm water, warmer than your body temperature. The mascara doesn't react to body temperature or oils, and it kind of peels off. Doesn't smudge unless you use too much in which case there can be some fallout.

I'm currently using a 38 degree mascara from L'Oreal, and it didn't cost much. Probably not the greatest mascara ever, but it's cheap and stays in place even with oily, hooded eyelids.

I have blue veins up and over my lids. I have had these since I was a kid. Translucent skin. The one on the right bulges slightly sorta like a varicose vein. Powder is truly mental here. ( I have bipolar disorder, speaking of mental. LOL) I have used orangey lipstick with concealer over it. Any ideas? If all you've got to worry about as you get older is a hooded eye, you're doing pretty well I think and it's definitely not something to be depressed about 😂😂😂

I find on me that losing the fat padding under the skin on the temple area has caused the skin on the outer part of the brow bone to droop down further than the outer corner of my eye. I used to love putting on makeup…now it’s just depressing 😅😭. All was ok until around my early 60’s…then it went down hill fast

How can you give a tutorial for a certain type of eyelid if you don’t have a person with that eyelid to do the makeup tutorial on?

Sometimes we have to try on our eyes what looks best, I do it and learned the light shadow works the best. A little bit of shimmer in the middle is nice too. Mascara is a special thing... the skin under eyes need a little bit of powder to not get a shadow area. And waterproof gives the most shadows.
I like the vids , Wayne always is honest, gives us a mile and is his own model, so we can see the outcoming real. Thanks Wayne - you are the Best

I’m 69 and have Ramsay Hunt Syndrome thanks to the Covid 19 shot I received. So sadly I have one eye that has no eyelid because the upper eyelid has dropped. I have completely given up on eyeshadow until now 😊 . Thank you for sharing this wonderful tutorial.

Have you tried the eye stickers that Chinese people use I bought some and they do make a difference they are thin skin coloured and self adhesive I’m 60 so who knows where I will be at 70 but it’s good fun sticking them on
