Sometimes saying you're sorry just isn't enough to make up for the evil done to a person/family. Like with my brother.
Shortly after I took in my grandmother after my mother died, my brother came to my house to speak to her. I wouldn't let him take even one step in the door because he'd spent years stealing from me. He complained that I couldn't deny him access to our grandmother, and I admitted that he was right about that, but it was up to her whether she wanted to talk to him or not because he'd stolen from her, too. She chose to step out on the deck and hear him out.
He didn't stop by to see how she was doing. Rather, he wanted her to give him money. She sent him on his way without a penny. His years of theft from the family couldn't be forgotten with a mere "I'm sorry" from him.

On a brighter note, the beginning of this story, with the rice fields reminds me of a program I saw late last Friday night on our cable's Japanese channel. It was called "Thatched Living." It was about a couple with two small children who left the city to live a simple life in a thatched house. Of course, they didn't have a city girl stumble into a rice paddie and get stuck, but it showed them planting the rice plants by hand (even the children helped) and later harvesting it (no machines), growing vegetables, making mochi with mallets, rethatching their roof, etc. It was a good show.

This was amazing! Akira was a great MC for helping out Miran and taking her offer of repaying him by giving him a better life, and using his success to help his family out of the poor life they were in. And when the village tried to apologize, he refused. They were too far gone and couldn't be redeemed. And now Akira and Miran are together as a couple, so the family just got one new member to help out.

Not the first time I've ever seen a random person get stuck in a farmer's field. Most of the time they also got their car stuck in said field.

Miran's story of being a scarecrow was hilarious and cute 😆 Akira was a real family man, that he took as good as possible care of his dad and his younger siblings Hinata and Hiroki was great 🤩 His kindness paid off big time, thanks to Miran resp. her dad he got a job and could eventually get his family out of this shitty village where they have been bullied just for being poor 😊 I'm glad that Akira didn't accept the apologies from the villagers, what they have done left too big scars and they didnt deserve forgiveness 😤🤬 At the end Miran asked Akira out and they became a wonderful and caring couple 😍
