ERs and urgent care centers should face legal consequences for this shit. One of my ex girlfriends died of cervical cancer after being told her bleeding was from numerous things OTHER than cancer. Such bullshit!

Yes its a dissociation from reality so stupid any doctor wouldn’t set her up right away, obviously should have had a colonoscopy from day 1. The first gastrointestinal doctor i went to when i told him i was bleeding from my rear end told me its nothing and lied to me and i could tell it was because he didn’t feel like dealing with my case. My instinct told me yea ok obviously some is wrong so i went to another gastrointestinal doctor and he set up the colonoscopy for me. Went in and found my tumor, when i woke up his attitude changed and he told me he was very concerned about me he had cut a piece of a mass out and they were sending it to get tested. Turned out to be stage 3 colon cancer had passed through the large intestine and got to 2 lymph nodes. Stayed locally got to two lymph nodes. When your young you feel immortal its the furthest thing from your mind so its really a shock. But if i had listened to the first doctor i would be dead now and people are evil in general, not all of them but so many they do it with a smile and kill you with kindness. So you have to be careful. I was diagnosed at 31 years old. Im 43 now and thankfully these doctors gave me 12 more years so far. But always trust your instincts and don’t fight with reality because you will lose. The universe is merciless. Just so everyone knows i had absolutely no symptoms, meanwhile i was bleeding out for months and had no idea until the oncologist took my blood and saw i was missing literally pints of blood. Throughout all of this im working out like crazy in good shape doing mma, but i had a notoriously bad diet my whole life. You cant outwork a bad diet. I saw a tiny bit of visible blood only once right before i went to get that checked but im lucky i even saw that. This girl is actually lucky she was visibly bleeding because so many have no idea until its way too late. There are absolutely no symptoms. So everyone be careful.

My son was 28 when he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Not long after his girlfriend found out she was pregnant. He was able to be at the birth of his daughter. He married one year later, 1 month before he died. He was 30 years old.

You never expect it to happen to you. It is such a surreal thing to go through. My first symptom was really bad consistent gas. I brushed it off just thinking I had a stomach bug but it lasted for several weeks before I suddenly started bleeding rectally. It was 2 days before Christmas so I just planned to get through the holidays, all the time trying to convince myself it was hemorroids, which I had never had before. Then the bleeding stopped and I thought, yeah hemorroids. Another month went by and the bad gas didn't really go away. Then I woke up one morning and went to the bathroom and the toilet was filled with blood. Absolutely terrifying, because I just knew that it was cancer. Long story short, I got my colonoscopy and sure enough stage 3 anal cancer. I had chemo and radiation for 6 weeks. Which didn't become difficult until the last couple weeks and for a few weeks after. I am now thankfully in remission and about 2 years out from treatment. I unfortunately did end up with permanent fecal incontinence, but I'm alive. So, I call that a win. I try my best not to let the fear of it coming back rule my life. I was 52 when this happened to me and had never had a colonoscopy. I wish I had gotten one earlier. So, get off your butts and get your colonoscopies, don't put it off.

I got something going on in my butthole
I think I have cancer
I just hope I catch it in time
It was small a few years ago
Then I didn't feel anything
Now it's bigger
🤏🙄 If you pinched the skin
Thing but perhaps less then 1/4 thick and about 1 1/2 center meters long
But I think another very small one is starting
And aside from that
Fissure
It's hard to say
I hope I catch it in time

I'm panicking
I haven't had any blood
Other then I tried to squeeze it a little bit
Maybe is a cist or something
So after that a little, little bit of blood
But one time nothing after that at all
I have anxiety
I just had a family member die from cancer as well
Today as a matter of fact

I'm die on fentanyl if I get cancer
I'm live
No wasting time
I did hospice for my mother who wanted to die at home so I took most of the care of her
Till the last hour the home nurse stayed with me
I watched take her very last breath
Gave her morphine shots
1.0 dose
Then I dumped the morphine onto bed cover like a diaper and tossed it out
The legal thing to do
That's not good drugs
When you are really suffering and die
You start with 0.5 and then within the last hours
1.0 every hour dose
I still haven't fully absorbed it
I want to cry so bad
But I have tons of things and worries on me
She is in peace now
But I'm still in shock watching her die
I forget she died
Then I feel so much anxiety
It's been a rough week let's say

Mine is just in the beginning of my butthole
Sort it outter laying
Sort of
It's not deep in me
At the entrance
But it's like 🙄 if you know a spino fin or a fish back fin
If you pinched your arm skin
Flap and maybe 1 1/2 long
I'm scared
For real
Or under 2 cm
But it's like flap not a mushroom or ball
I don't think it's a vein
No blue or blood under the skin
Very sad day today
I can't sleep I'm so anxious up
I have Tons on my mind plate hitting all at once
And things to do
And take moments to mourn mother
I miss her already
But she is in peace
I have lots on my mind
I can't sleep
I watch my mother die for a week or so
Not lots sleep either
She is at peace
That gives me peace
She has no worries anymore
I just going to miss
And cry like a little bitch
Over And over again
Just not all at once

It's horrible watching my mother die
Traumatized by it

Same thing happened to me. After I was feeling really sick and have constant cough at one stage, I went to a local GP who gave me some cough syrup and told me to go home and rest. After a couple of month, I was feeling worse, then went to another older doctor. This time she sent me to pathology straight away, and the next morning around 7, I got a call to say my blood test result did not look good. I asked her whether I had leukemia, she said very possible. That's how I get diagnosed. The other thing is when I reviewed my past blood test result, I actually found 8 months ago when I did another blood test for something else with another doctor, the lab had already suggest possible blood related decease, and suggested doctor to exam further, but my previous doctor did not even look at the clinical notes from the lab. That's how irresponsible some doctors can be, they don't even bother to read through the whole lab report.

I'm shocked how come no doctor recommended for colonoscopy for blood in the stool? I am doctor and although colon cancer would have been on the lower side of my differential diagnoses for healthy young with no family history BUT i would still do complete thorough examination first to rule out any local perianal disease followed by colonoscopy besides blood tests. Because most of the GI diseases (including crohn's and ulcerative etc) can't be ruled out by just simple blood tests. It needs thorough examination and scope to look into the body what's going on there especially if it's blood which is a red flag. We can't just label it psychological or IBS if it's blood without thoroughly ruling out other diseases including cancer.

It is unconscionable that 3 different doctors, starting with Urgent Care, would not recommend a colonoscopy immediately. I don't know where they got their medical training, but that is malpractice. A simple colonoscopy would have shown the problem immediately, and would have provided your diagnosis promptly. The procedure is a bit embarrassing, but is really a "piece of cake" and not painful (under anesthesia such as propofal). Such a shame.

A colonoscopy will not detect cancer in the small intestine. I would suggest that if you have a family history of gastro-intestinal cancer to have a gastroscopy scheduled at the same time as your colonoscopy. It doesn't take very long. Although cancer in the small intestine is relatively rare, don't be complacent. My relative has had 2 separate primary cancers diagnosed in the small intestine. Other than surgery there is no known treatment, so if it's not caught early it may not end well. Immunotherapy can work quite well, but it's not available for everyone under government funded care, and otherwise costs about $7000 per treatment.

Find a female doctor, people. They aren’t perfect but your chance of getting ignored, misdiagnosed, and dying (especially in surgery) is much lower with a woman physician. And just don’t ever take a female child to a male doctor.

I have been suffering from digestive issues for the past 5 to 6 years. I sometimes feel pain under my lower right rib cage, and other times on the left side. I notice blood in my stool a few times a year, but not consistently. I also see mucus in my stool and often have loose stools.

I had a colonoscopy 2 years ago, which came back normal. My upper GI endoscopy was also normal, except for some stomach erosions.

I’m not sure how to push the doctors to fully diagnose my condition. Do you think I need another colonoscopy?

I had colon cancer and had about a foot of my colon removed. I got it out right before it grew into the wall. I did have high white blood cell count. I saved my life and you have to fight and stand up for yourself people.
