Goldenrod is one of my favorite easy to grow perennials. From the second year on it grows densely to prevent weeds. It provides bright blooms for pollinators late in the year when most summer plants are done.

Thank you so much. This is very helpful, specifically I'm looking for deer resistant plants. My azalea and hydrangea suffered a lot from dear bites last year.

You’ve now confirmed that I need to give Epimedium x rubrum a try here in Zone 4b Minneapolis.

One of my favorite, easy perennials to grow are hardy geraniums. Specifically, Biokovo and Rozanne have been exceptional for me. The way they expand territory and mound is beautiful. And they look good from early spring to the end of fall.
