Okay hold up... Jonathan did not kill himself because of harts war, he killed himself because he went 3 years without a job, really wanted to be a director, his fame was going down. Jonathan though this would help a little, and he was lonely and depressed!

Dont blame the director for Jonathans death...its not like he tied the noose and handed over to Brandis, if that is the case that he killed himself...well thats just sad.

must be hard to be a teen heartthrob for millions of girls for quite a few years, to suddenly becoming a somewhat washed up actor, by 25, having girls swoon over you , to walking down the road without anyone giving a shit. , he seemed a really nice guy and probably was, but with fame and money also comes a pretty big ego no matter who you are, I guess after being in the spotlight from a very young age, he just couldn't cope emotionally, with what he deemed failure, very sad, but not the first and not the last, rip mate I was a fan

Still wish he would've gave his acting career more time. This movie overall was a failure even if Jonathan had been the lead role, it wouldn't have mattered. He truly had talent and was only 27 and could've been in more movies. Miss him dearly.

Jonathan Landis’s career was careening at this point. Even if they left this scene in, he wouldn’t have had many other big roles. Unless this movie didn’t bomb.

It really saddens me that if they didn’t cut Jonathan out of this he probably would’ve still been here with us today. Poor kid, he went through so much. He had the kindest soul and was so beautiful. Rest In Peace Jonathan

Sad scene was cut from the movie. He only had small role. And they didn’t use it. Shorty after movie finish. He took his own life. Being a late 80s 90s kid. Is was sad to everyone who grew up at that time.

He is a good actor they didnt give him a chance, he would have been alive and still in hollywood. Rest in peace idol

One of the celeb deaths that actually had a noticeable effect on me, him and John Candy. I'm far from a film critic, but for myself, Brandis' acting was always spot on, and I always found it easy to relate to his characters.

I came here because it was said that the late Jonathan Brandis was in this movie, but that his scenes being cut were the cause of the depression that caused him to overdrink and commit suicide, but I can't tell which is him, as I couldn't recognize him at all, and even Rampage Clover's 4-year-ago comment didn't help.

He was murdered, not suicide. Read his death report. Dates are suspicious among other things. Someone beat him up / strangled him then staged it to look like a suicide. Imho.
