I think you can make same movement with messer if you look down and stab with messer it does that same animation so i think halberd has the same thing but with overhead

This is a bug with polearms that happens when looking down and standing stationary at the beginning of the riposte

Just do a stab with messer while looking down and u'll get same bug anim. But only other people can see the bugged anim.
