I can't stand Florida. Very high risk for hurricanes and insurance premiums are the highest in the nation. Homeowner's insurance is mostly insolvent such as Citizens. All the major insurance companies LEFT the state or went bankrupt. Citizens is no longer the "last resort" insurance but the MAJOR Florida insurer -- they insure far too many people which means one major storm they will go insolvent. It is a good idea to keep flood insurance even at a no-flood zone. Especially if you live near a lake like I do, so I have flood insurance. PS: Eggs went high due to bird flu, which is easing now. Egg prices are starting to fall.
