no, they likely didn't pull stones from a creek for a wall in VT.... they likely needed to do something with stones from a field, and building a wall near the creek to keep the sheep in was what was doen with that field stone......each spring, a farmer in the NE really should be going up and down their fields and pulling any stones, which show up every year..... they always did and always will in the NE, and rubble stone walls is where this stones goes.

Love the shows n have to say, really enjoy both your personalities and the way you both bounce/interact off each other and present your show/s... plus the way you both analyse and disect the topic/s at hand... with an open mind to ALL possibilities, exploring possible answers, but with a healthy dose of scepticism... Makes it all worth watching, you both raise some pretty interesting questions and points over the different episodes. 👍👍😊😊

When I think of Vermont I don't think of creepy stuff. I had no idea. I never heard of any of these stories. Thanks for yet another great episode. Creepy stories, another disgusting ramen recipe by Jimmy and some great photos too. I like the one of the house. Cristina, you handled yourself like a pro even while you were having an eyelash malfunction. Lol! I can't wait to see what you guys will have cooked up for the next episode. Big hugs from the Bronx.

Really good job you two highlighting so many mysteries! I’m a resident of Vermont and IT IS a very quirky place! Vermont isn’t like anywhere else. It’s completely non commercialized, hence no billboards and much hasn’t changed in 300-400 years. We have maple syrup, covered bridges and general stores (not ones made to look old but real ones that have been in business for hundreds of years).

It’s very very rural except for Burlington where over half of the states population is within 30 minutes of downtown. The only “cool” things about Vermont are Ben and Jerry’s, the band Phish, Bernie Sanders, Burton snowboards and we have 4 of the 5 biggest ski resorts in the East, all within 45 minutes of me 😀. Other then that we are mostly just a play place for rich people from NYC, Boston, NJ and CT that want to escape city life on weekends.

Fun facts…we are the only state to have more second home owners then primary residents and more miles of dirt roads then paved. I think per capita we may have more mysteries then a lot of places but like Alaska I think most can be explained by being so rural, the extreme wildlife and just simply it’s so easy to get lost and never found. There are places I can go and be 20 miles from the nearest house!

The stone piles would be roughly 200 years old. Originally in NE wooden fences were used. Around 1812 Merino sheep were imported to Vermont and over the next couple decades would spread throughout Vermont and New Hampshire. Much of central VT and NH was cleared below 2000ft for pasture lands for the sheep and other animals. Wood became scarce and that’s when stone was used as fence. Piles of stone can be found throughout VT and NH near rock walls and streams. Some would be gathered for use from the streams while others were removed while tilling the land, put in piles for later use in rock walls. The odds are that’s all that is in the photo.

To the subject of healing springs being 'everywhere', we here in the UK have Bath & Leamington Spa !!?? 🤷‍♂️
