Tariffs are paid by the consumer. The initial WW2 model required Germany and Japan to make meager profits of course eventually it was perverted. So either way the consumer pays. In taxes or goods. No escape.

Okay so I'm a Canadian Trump said if we do not close or fix the borders that there will be a 25% tariff it was a bargaining chip key words if we do not fix the border! Are prime minister wasn't planning on doing so however all the PM s of the provinces all agreed to fix the border and I guess a bunch of money has been allocated to do so so if Trump is a man of his word then there shouldn't be a problem because we are working on fixing the border apparently

Even if true, the tariff policy would still be significant. That said I understand his blanket tariff policy is more as a tool to change major issues (stemming illegal drugs and illegal migration) after which the administration may use selective tariffs to stimulate US job creation and sovereignty.
