I used to but a Chinese daughter in law cured that,. Selfish greedy and lets compromise doing her way.
ОтветитьFunny vid Barrie, enjoyed it. Shame you felt the need to make it as goes without saying tho…
When ‘we’ have to frame anything before saying something less than positive about something abroad shows the problem with society imo.
You’re onto AT/CarDealer for their obvious promotion and people are annoyed you’re calling it out. Keep going pal.
That bar looks fun - I’ll stick one in the wood for you if I visit.
Barrie please go and visit China. Unless you are there you wont believe! There is a lot of lies in western media.
ОтветитьI love Chinese people too but I couldn't eat a whole one.
ОтветитьMy great grandad was German living in the UK. He moved here before world war 1. He then joined British army in WW1 fighting against his own birth country of Deuscthland
ОтветитьAgree with you what Chinese car companies are doing to UK. Same with what car magazines are pushing UK car dealers in UK suffering badly same with car manufacturers in UK all going to the wall pushed by UK government Trump got right idea look after your own country first and your own people
ОтветитьBad mistake trying to explain to the witch hunt people. You probably won't have a channel in a year because they can smell the urine in the water.
ОтветитьI never imagined for a minute that you were a racist Barrie. EVangelists just hurl insults because they don't like it that you're shining light on an obvious manipulation of the car market. I quite like the BYD Seal, but Chinese cars are clearly being pushed at the expense of the established brands, and it's not a good thing. It's going to put jobs at risk, and I have a big problem with that.
ОтветитьWhere did my comment go?
ОтветитьIt’s lazier and easier to produce an “-ism” card than it is to try and debate facts!
The terms racism and racist are so overused now that they’re meaningless. As said, these cars could come from any part of the world and the criticism would stand, it’s nothing to do with ethnoreligious demographics.
I can well remember back in the day how Japanese cars and motorcycles undercut the British made product. My exposure was mostly motorcycles, and it was great to have a 250cc motorcycle that’d out accelerate and in many cases go faster than a larger British 650/750, for less than half the price. Then we realised that although the old BSA, Triumph, Norton etc could last years, our nasty little two-stokes could be dead in a year or two lol similar with cars, but the Japanese really got their act together and really lead the way in quality mass production.
I see China in a similar way today, it’s making cheap products, time will tell if they fall apart, and even more time will tell if they address the issues as well as Japan did all those years ago.
I can remember early Chinese clones of Japanese motorcycles, mostly copies of Honda, they were terrible, the rear sprockets often didn’t last as long as the chain driving it, the frames were rusty in weeks because of poor prep work prior to painting or enamelling, the engines were dubious. They still don’t have a terrific reputation, but they are so cheap people keep buying them…new only, of course.
I still remember my late father’s first car, an early Datsun 100A Cherry, if I recall correctly. It was a rust bucket within two years. The paint was so thin I think a guitar pick could have scratched it off lol
China is an odd entity at the moment. In some areas it is at or close to leading the world technologically, yet in others it seems to struggle to get things right!
Everything you say today is taken out of context , free speech and opinions don't seem to be allowed now !!
Take no notice Barrie, so many people like to complain or get offended.
I bet they'll sell loads of BYDs. Even without promotion, they will be priced so aggressively in order to get a share of the market. They probably drive good enough, and that's all most people want. Sad, really. My colleague has a 2010 Astra 1.7d. Really nice car with a bit of character. Proof that Brits can make great stuff. We have no manufacturering left.
ОтветитьDon't apologise and don't explain Barrie. Giving these haters airtime is what they want. Don't bite, just let them seethe 👍
ОтветитьI have said before, I have been from junior salesman to DP in franchised dealers and dealer chains, then onto working directly with manufacturers and in a few cases with advanced EV and alternative fuel systems. There is almost nothing you say that I can’t completely agree with, and vast swathes of the motor industry also agree, because we know by being there and doing the job or seeing the tech up front and personal. Like you, for me racism has no place but being critical of a country’s motor industry is not racist, it’s calling situation as you see it. I think and many others in industry also do, that you are right on the money. It’s interesting that one of your critics quotes you being ignorant of data, but all I ever see you quote is actual data. Because we know how bodies like SMMT can fudge things, doesn’t mean we don’t follow the data. Telling the truth and sharing knowledge is never something to fear or apologise for.
Do I like EVs, some yes and I like the idea of them, would I buy one, absolutely not because they are far from the finished article. In 10 or 15 years they may make actual sense but not now and certainly not shonky cobbled together Chinese ones from companies that will probably not exist in 18 months time.
i may have to stop watching you barrie because every time i do i get a bloody advert for BYD
ОтветитьI enjoyed the little stories about your family, I think you should share more of them Barrie.
ОтветитьDo not worry, Barrie, it's the old tactic when their information is shown to be false. You're made out to be a racist.
Doesn't truly work nowadays since the truth is clear to see if you take the effort to look.
You are a good bloke, you dont need to justify yourself against haters.
ОтветитьEvangilist, Antifa, Pro Palestine, etc. Illgitimi non carborandum Barrie.
ОтветитьOh how brave these people are, sitting in front of their keyboards indignantly taking what they erroneously see as the moral high ground. They immediately react to anything that challenges their belief system with derogatory comments, typically ending in 'ist' or 'ism'. For what it's worth I spent several years in a senior quality management role for a multi-national manufacturer. My experience is that indigenous Chinese manufacturers generally do not employ the same standard of rigour in design, materials selection and manufacturing process control that is typically found in Japanese or western manufacturers. Indeed, I had to manage a number of product safety recalls that proved to be directly attributable to Chinese supplier's shortcomings. I suppose to the EVangelists/trolls, that probably makes me a racist. Keep up your great work Barrie.
ОтветитьI've argued with you on a lot of points, but I've never thought your comments on EVs, even Chinese ones were at all racist.
You obviously feel the Chinese manufacturers are doing manipulation and hidden paid influencing going on - you could well be right i don't know for sure. But that's not racist.
Unrelated, but will someone stop them robot puppy ads FFS.
ОтветитьIt's EV's in general pushed on us form everywhere is what I don't like I just want to be able to choose in fact as a present to myself beating prostate cancer I bought myself a Royal Enfield Classic 650 but I don't know if it's brand snobs or maybe it's slightly racist saying they're built in India they're crap as the bolts are stripped in the engine casings etc etc when in reality they've come a long way as a company & don't just built Bullets anymore. I think Chinese vehicles EV's get pushed on us as they're cheaper than other brands 7 they think the public will fall for it, well some do I guess but they aren't for me as I've said before an EV doesn't work for me where I live
ОтветитьJeez! Some people are idiots! 🤦♂️ ignore them, just focus on giving us the facts we need about EVs and cars! It’s why I watch 🤷♂️
ОтветитьThe Chinese are famous for producing junk, somehow they float. Will the Chinese cars float or sink. BYD have got the idea by calling their junk dolphin, seal etc just think what they would look like underwater
ОтветитьSupport from Australia Bazz
Over here they are “manifesting” climate change, as their emotions will not tolerate the truth
My dad was born in 1923 and conscripted into the army in 1940. He didn't like Germans, although I doubt he'd ever met any.
He justified this by saying that it was very difficult to be positive about the citizens of a country who had been dropping bombs on you for five years. Of course world war one had only ended in 1918 so it was fresh in most people's memory.
Remember when you were a raysist if you suggested a certain virus originated in a Chinese lab, or that flights from China should be stopped? That was only five years ago.
Any such vexatious claim of racism is either simple misinterpretation or just disgusting slurs to close down an unfavourable, yet legitimate opinion.
You should look towards the powerful UN supranational environmental emissions lobby which is responsible for the traditional ICE auto industry destruction, with pernicious regulations that over decades have seriously compromised the economic viability, reliability, maintainability and durability of passenger vehicles (the list is long: CATS, EGR, DPF, wet belt offering 2% friction efficiency, ADBLU, low tension compression rings, ever lightening of parts, ever thinner oil, ridiculously longer service intervals etc). As a consequence, many vehicles manufactured today are often less reliable, repairable and durable than those of 20 years ago.
The very fact that the huge VW brand had to embed software to cheat the diesel emissions test in order to meet US import regulations demonstrates the point that emissions regulations were being seriously stretched beyond reasonable standards. The final blow is the BEV MANDATE, which benefits Chinese auto manufacturers use of vertical integration (opposite of outsourcing in the west). But as China is classified as a “developing nation” it is not subject to the same stringent IPCC/ Paris Accord regulations as western nations, hence the imbalance in the auto industry playing field in favour of Chinese (and other) manufacturers.
Barrie - love your humour and insights. Don’t let these shills change your approach.
ОтветитьBarrie , dont rise to these people who will never understand, your vids are helpfull to all creeds and races in a fight against EVs, there is good and bad in everybody, miserable keyboard warriors have no substance whatsoever ✝️✝️✝️
ОтветитьEh, chinese people that shout racism for a legit disgust at shoddy products, would they like a reply about the Uyghur people that are "employed" by their government?
No, because they would feel attacked, kicked in the country. Patriotic, but wrong. Voicing your opinion on shoddy products is not limited to a country, or a race. It is good of you to protect your fellow man, regardless of race, from gaining any form of harm.
Barry your a grown man buddy, don’t let anyone knock you down, stand up and keep telling the truth brother! Oh and Chinese cars are 💩
ОтветитьIt's not the people it's the government that creates the problem and the people have to pay for it. And that's all governments.
Ответитьits not just chinese build quality, teslas are badly built too, and dont even mention nissan cvt
ОтветитьLook no further than TickTock for China influencing your children. China also gives Billions of dollars to Western institutions to garner more influence. 😢
ОтветитьAs a critic of this guy …I don’t think he’s racist AT ALL
I do however think he’s a tad narrow minded
You don’t own a frap EV like a jag and say all EVS are rubbish like he does
Jaguar ICE or EVS are crap
It doesn’t mean all EVs are
Agree Barrie ?
That word carries no weight any more and is thrown about when someone is nearing the truth about the lies certain people are spreading. So take it as a compliment..
ОтветитьBarrie. They always use the racism card, it just means they don't like what you are saying. The push for Chinese junk is scary.
ОтветитьSaying "im not racist " will never work. Its like "im not crock"
The thing that works is saying "that is what a racist would say".
Because. Its often true.
I never used to be, but i'm getting there.
ОтветитьWhat people don’t understand is that Chinese EV are only the latest piece in the war to take down western economies.
It is in the end the Chinese end game to gain financial world domination.
It all started as an apology to China for bombing the Chinese embassy in Belgrade in 1999 when China became a member of WTO in 2001.
China (CCP)is not our friend’s.
The people out side the CCP are nice people make no mistake but they are also pieces in that end game.
By the way when people you are arguing with turns personal on you you have won the argument.
You’re doing something right if the Evangelists only have insults left to throw.
ОтветитьBe yourself Barrie. After all these years of life and experience I live by the wise words of Burns toast , which roughly translated means. Here’s to us and all thats like us. They’re damn few. And they’re all dead !!
ОтветитьBarrie, dear boy. Your vids are on point, well informed and you have a great way of storytelling. I for one have enjoyed listening to your points and calling out bullcrap
ОтветитьBarrie, no one thinks you’re a racist, including the person who made the comment. These comments are made to discredit what you are saying, it’s basic, 101 in the rule book of propaganda. Ignore them! However you do need to consider building your channel on other platforms too. You are currently being shadow banned by YT because you are speaking against the narrative. Your channel will eventually removed. Just the way it is in this world now.
ОтветитьWho cares if someone calls you a racist? That word has lost all meaning. The left loves to call everyone they disagree with racist/sexist/homophobic/etc. People have activist fatigue (along with black fatigue, gay fatigue, liberal white woman fatigue, etc). No one pays these whackos the slightest bit of attention anymore.
ОтветитьVery much the same as being called right wing as means of attack, when they have no valid argument
Ответитьyou are getting very very bitter about eletric cars.. a man your age worked hard just enjoy retirement…also saying im not racist then show pics with ethnic people is just cringe and actually not a good look.. not liking electric cars has nothing to do with race …
ОтветитьBYD - "Bring your deposit" and good luck and god be with you :)))
