Every media organization decided to copy Netflix and build their own streaming service. They never realized how expensive that costs. Developers aren’t cheap. Servers aren’t cheap. And at the end of the day, companies need to bill customers for more money than those companies throw at developers. Those same customers never wanted this setup where they subscribe to a half dozen streaming services.

Everyone would have been better off if the media companies just sold their content to the streaming services. Let Netflix deal with the developers and the development cost. Customers could have continued paying for a single service. And media companies wouldn’t have lost money trying to reinvent Netflix.

These 15% layoffs are due to the SAG/AFTRA & WRITERS STRIKE just as massive layoffs happened to the UAW after there strike the bid three auto makers have closed a few planets, stopped construction on there new EV Battery plant and have laid off at least over 500k in workers over all three auto makers and as I understand it more lay offs are coming to the big three.
Look people the SAG/AFTRA & WRITERS strike costs the studios 1 billion dollars & the UAW strike cost the big three auto makers 1 Billion each and both of these strikes are for only 4 years then they are back at it again. Always remember this No One wins in a strike and both sides lose, Who do you think will get paid 1st the investors or the employees & if you said the investors then you would be correct, the employees will just be laid off
