Well, up to 4 colonists is already pretty good!

When utilising traps its best to just create a single path/very long corridor into your base as raiders will start to remember where u place traps. Every 4 traps or so placing a door so u cant trigger them when rebuilding. (Make sure the path into base is open/ or open it before raid aggros onto weaker part of base)

Hello mah boy. About the hunting stuff, you want to use to colonist with the highest combination of shooting and animals, those skills make up the "hidden" stat < Hunter stealth >, the higher the hunter stealth, the lesser the chance an animal will attack back , so a decent hunter with enough hunter stealth will almost never be attacked back, frequency of shots and distance between pawn and prey also account, so slow guns with a lot of range and powerful singular projectiles are the way to go when talking about putting some species into extinction.

Your farms are rly small for 4 people. My for of play style is to to focus one season of the year for farming only and spend the rest of the year improving the colony .

Put every one on farming 1 for one season , and put you large farms next to the food stockpile/fridge.

Soil fertility is very overrated , I don't even farm on fertile soil when I play because the quantity of farms is far more important than soil fertility. Hauling time to the food stock pile is very important too in bulk farming , you don't want your food roting outdoors so make sure your stock pile is near you farm .

Read my barn comment in the previous video , you need it.

Mountain freezers are safe from infestations if you can keep the temperature below -17C.

To cut down on animal revenge, hunt from a distance with bows.

Can’t get over the fact of how adorable and yet slightly odd looking the animals are in this game.

I like to wait until episode 10 of any of his series in order to truly satisfy my need of Amphibian's nonsensical antics

From what I gathered your turkey eggs must of deteriorated if they were laid outside. The wiki didn't say that they needed a nest box or sleeping spot to lay an egg, but I could easily be wrong. Temperature must also be regulated if you wanna hatch any fertilized eggs so keep em between 32 and 122 F apparently. Also its telling me that the animal tab is where you find the animal zones controls, you'll wanna keep all animals out of your fridge always as I'm sure your well aware your animals will eat all of your food if not kept away.

Another good thing about psychopaths is that they don't mind if an animal of theirs dies. Thus they make great fighting animal trainers.

For mining, colonists with low skill collect less resources than those with higher skill

IMO, a change on your micromanagement parts ... I would suggest : 1) put plant cutting as 1, so that the colonists will go cut your selected trees already without you manually telling them to. any other time, with no trees to cut, they will just go about their business anyway, doing the other tasks. This also helps when you have to cut plants that are infected with blight.

And 2) even if people say making simple foods takes more time than a nutrient dispenser at the beginning, just making some kind of food will be better than the raw food debuff. By itself, not so big a deal but the point of this game is that there are so many things that can give debuffs at the same time, especially at the beginning of a colony. And raw food debuff is definitely one of the ones we can get rid of right away.

An alternative to getting the cooking skill to go up before making foods is to butcher animals and not make food then. Let the meat spoil away and as your food skill increases, then you can begin making food if you are also worried about food sickness (and when starting with 1 colonist, this will be a big deal).

And the thing about deciding on a new area of the map to build up your base ... just move over there. Nothing wrong with rebuilding up some new buildings to be your new base. You don't have to say "If I could redo all this from the beginning" because all you have to do it, go do it now that you see a better spot over there.

If you don't notice the egg right away, it often gets eaten by other animals. Fertile eggs need to be stored in a protected (inside preferably), temperature safe stockpile away from animals that might eat it. Also, be sure you're not cooking with fertilized eggs if you want them to last long enough to hatch.

Fun fact nicotine is way more dangerous to parasites then to people so technically smoking can help you get rid of parasites
