The previous owner of this National NC-300 receiver disconnected the existing 3 section power supply filter capacitor and hacked in some other filter capacitors. I measured the existing filter
capacitor and it seems fine on the Fluke meter.

So I pulled out ALL the junk the previous owner installed and am attempting to revert the 150 volt power supply to as close as original as possible. I did add some 22uf Chinese communist capacitors I bought on Amazon to parallel the existing capacitor.

I will add an external capacitor across the cathode of the 6AQ5 audio output tube.

I will measure for any A/C ripple tomorrow and try to bring up the existing capacitor on the variac with lower voltage to bring it into usefulness.

The previous owenr was running the oscillator tube on DC which is smartly done..
I will remove all his hacky hack stuff and build a regulator on an octal tube socket with a 6 volt
3 terminal regulator and a diode and a capacitor.

After all this is done I need to address the mechanical band switching issues.
