First time. Entered fruiting stage 4 days ago. Today I noticed pooling in 2 areas and it’s yellow water! Then I noticed a few reddish specks on the mycelium. Using a monotub and the red is on one side…is it salvageable?
ОтветитьHey Ashley I have noticed a orange spot or 2 in one of my tubs is it from water pooling or could it be some kind of bacteria/mould?
ОтветитьWould it be too risky to leave the tubs soaking In bleach for a day to completely disinfect them?
ОтветитьWas that a microgreen growing in one of the tubs? 😊
ОтветитьI'm reassured to know it happens to the experts as well. Thanks.
ОтветитьJust curious, if you kept the one that was still able to fruit despite contamination, and cultured more from it, could you eventually get more contamination resistant mushrooms??
ОтветитьI question this lady's abilities, mainly on the fact of, look how she cut the hole and mounting for that fan on the right.....it does nothing, no air flow.....she cut out the center....where there's no blades or air flow.....and if that's how she builds, imagine how she grows....
ОтветитьBoomer Shroomer ftw
ОтветитьI see a fan in 1 tub, does that move the CO2 and help with air flow? Would adding a tiny air pump help with or without a fan??
ОтветитьWould a casing layer helped in these situations?
ОтветитьI would say ur filters are exsessive , mybe use less material that catches unwanted particles ..just my thaughts
Ответитьok
ОтветитьThe cycle of life. One fungus dies and becomes nutients for others to come. Kinda beautiful, right?
ОтветитьHarvested first flush of mushrooms. Got lots of pins and some small mushrooms so far for second flush, but everything stopped growing. No growth in 3 days. Can't find obvious contamination. Should I harvest the few small ones and rehydrate the cake? This is my first tub, so I am not very experienced.
Ответитьis it safe to dispose of contaminated substrate in the country? So many animals are drawn to stinky stuff. Plus, we have three standard poodles we don't want in it. Throw it into our woods?
ОтветитьI have been having that green mold. It usually starts after the second or third flush but the past couple of bins its been there before the pinning starts. i use a 1:4 bleach solution (reccomended by midwest grow supplies) and then i put the bins in my bathroom and use this UVC lamp for 20 minutes. I at first thought the mold was from too much moisture. This may be a dumb question but what is the the green mold from? Also, if there is a better way for sanitation between cycles after the substrate is done im all ears. thank you and i love your videos!
Ответитьa life span is a life span
ОтветитьQuick question… I was thinking about using a mini fan in my monotub. Should the fan be blowing in or out of the tub?
ОтветитьI allowed my shrooms to open and sporilate. Now it’s brown on top of substrate. Shrooms are still growing fine.. is everything still good?
ОтветитьDon’t touch the mould, mycotoxins can be deadly.
ОтветитьAre you a Sooner fan by chance? BOOMER!?
ОтветитьI can’t figure out why mine didn’t pin.
ОтветитьIf your grains are blue is that contam or brusing just blueish color no green no grey no other colors
ОтветитьBlessings to you for digging through those tubs! I cringed the whole time! I just toss a cake if its under producing.
ОтветитьMy mushrooms were thriving then I put the heater to close and killed them
ОтветитьAshley, you're a star.
ОтветитьHow much do these monotubs yield per cut?
Ответитьwhat is the orange in the containers?
ОтветитьHi Ashley. Love your videos because you get to the point and speak clearly (despite your accent).
But please don’t say things like, “Throw away your tub.” I had to listen more closely to hear you say that you thoroughly clean the tub and throw away everything INSIDE. I was wondering why you were throwing away perfectly good tubs.
Daphne?
ОтветитьBut why didnt the first tub have enough nutrients?
Ответить☘️
ОтветитьYou're so good at this! Will keep watching and learning as much as i can before i do my first batch. Thank you so much for the awesome content!
ОтветитьYou don’t have to throw it away boil honey and water let it cool. Add peroxide. Take the substrate out spread it out on something sterile mist it and mist it mist it and mix use a blow dryer dry it only moist and look for contamination sterilize your tub and start over again 🤷🏽. Seems to be working for me
ОтветитьSo what caused it I think thats the most important thing you left out
ОтветитьDo you throw the plastic tub itself or do you clean it and how (after green mold for example)?
ОтветитьThanks for the info
ОтветитьMy bulk substrate had tiny green mold from the surface and i removed using salt and sanitizer, no more green mold and a healthy flush came out the other side of the bulk (the clean one) and no it doesn't touch any mold at all, so is this flush is edible?
ОтветитьReally great job teaching about growing. Thank you. Do you only grow with your specific mix of coco, vermiculite and gypsum ? Would other media work ?
ОтветитьGirl why are you digging in that mold you are kicking up all sorts of spores and going right into your lungs. Please wear a mask and gloves when you doing this. And you're pretty lady who's super smart and I like watching your videos I don't want you to be sick.
ОтветитьAh it freaks me out the way you are touching the mold
Im always terrified of disposing of contaminates. Makes me want to toss the entire tub or jars
Great. I'm trying the automated method. I get great pin starts, but they stop growing or grow lanky in many directions. Humidy is on target and have fae at 15min every hour. Could this be too much FAE as humidity fluctuates between 80 and 92% during exchange? Or still not enough FAE? Thank you!
ОтветитьI believe my mono just did this. Everything went amazing started seeing pins.!!! Then boom nothing 1 tiny tiny mushroom. Waited a month and nothing finally dumped it today. Believe i seen some lind of mold in the substrate even smelled. Did not even get 1 flush
ОтветитьMe watching you stir the mold up with your hands: 😱🤯😳
😂
I don't like to assume that this happened with attempted subsequent flushes, so I ask, was this an attempt for a second, third or fourth flush? I've had contam issues with a greater percentage of my tubs when attempting a second flush and I hear some people getting as many as 5 flushes from one tub. I just don't see how. Do you have any videos on rehydration and subsequent flushes? Thanks for your videos
Hi Ashley, what about little fruit flies or fungus gnats. I just noticed a couple in my monotub this morning when I was fanning. Can I still continue to grow or should I throw it out? Can it be controlled? I have some rather large fruiting happening in this tub and its my first time starting to see a good flush. Ill be devastated if I have to throw this one out. :(
Ответитьwhat about slime mold, my one and only monotub is contaminate by slime mold. Any tips how to remove slime mold?
ОтветитьVielen Dank für Ihre Mühe.
ОтветитьYes, I do love you!
ОтветитьSo what causes the mold? I have green mold that pops up from time to time and seemingly out of the blue. I've reduced my water to 10 cups when making coco coir substrate in a 5 gallon bucket.
