Too bad my check won't account for inflation. Out of 10 billion people theres atleast a couple million suckers, gotta love global marketing. The people who buy games can no longer reach them, game over. And rich people hate video games. They're always talking about how five minutes is 5,000 dollars and crap.
ОтветитьMe playing Dungeon Siege 1 in 2025:
ОтветитьNow’s a good time to quit games
ОтветитьIf gta 6 is anything but absolute perfection, the industry will implode.
ОтветитьZoomers already got brainwashed into buying shit like Balenciaga and Gucci as a status symbol. 100 bucks for GTA6 would be like a fart in the wind lol.
ОтветитьWe used to go into the store to buy a game now you buy a game to go into a store.
Ответитьand on top of the $100 price tag, the fact that pc gamers apparently cant play GTA6 for a year, yea this is gonna be a worse release than cyberpunk
ОтветитьGTA6 will be an example of how to ruin a franchise
ОтветитьOur Indie game SUR5 ☢ is free. It was made to be inexpensive for tough times of recession!
ОтветитьAnyone know what gaming research paper that was?
ОтветитьIt's really relative to what you make, the "AAA" companies are insanely bloated to the point they are cracking under their own weight. In my opinion game dev has overall become cheaper, we went from physical media and insane content in our boxes to digital with increased prices, on top of that every MTX mechanic from the F2P mobile market entered our games even though the games are sold at a premium price. At the same time many tools to make a games are cheaper faster and more automated than ever before and some are free to use. Sure inflation happens that's natural but literally everything else in the process of making a game has become way cheaper, games like GTA are exceptions and are indeed ultra expensive to make.
Ответитьfor me who live in Brazil, US$ 100 = R$600.
ОтветитьI feel like I trust Rockstar to make a game worthy of $100
Can’t say the same for many other games. Stay down at $60 you bastards. As a matter of fact go down to $40
Their really pushing it in todays economy. Gaming is a luxury that more and more people are not being able to afford to buy the games or the time to play them having to work more.
ОтветитьI am starting to think all my teammates are literally npcs, I’m not joking I really think that there isn’t actually real people playing games anymore.
ОтветитьI've put over 100€ into exactly 2 games, 1 was a 70€ game with a 50€ controller included in the box as a special combo (Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythm Festival), and the other is a 20€ game that I've gifted to around 10 different friends cause I just find the game THAT GOOD (Core Keeper)
ОтветитьGeek bar
Ответитьi had such a bad time trying to catch up to games in the last two decades... i don't know who rushes to buy games day one, but it cannot be me.
ОтветитьGames are launching unpolished, unfinished, and unoptimised, with predatory micro transactions and they wanna charge 100 USD. If they did this games would cost over 180 Australian dollars for me how tf do you expect someone living on an average salary to be able to afford more than a few games a year
ОтветитьGames are launching unpolished, unfinished, and unoptimised, with predatory micro transactions and they wanna charge 100 usd
Ответитьfor $100 I don't want base game, I want a collector's edition
ОтветитьI thought the title was just a clickbait/ragebait but I ended up agreeing.
ОтветитьIm just gon be chilling with my 10-20 dollar indie games on the sideline
ОтветитьHonestly one thing i could see happening is that gta 6 will have near zero optimization being only playable on high end cards on purpose being tied in with the new 50 series from nvidia, but then again it does need to run on consoles so I'm most likely wrong.
ОтветитьAAA needs to crash. They are too expensive, runs terribly, no love for the community or game, no passion can be felt, and they MILK you for every penny.
ОтветитьGaming has never been cheaper for me. I buy indie games on steam that usually net me like 30 hours for under $10. These bloated corps literally cannot compete for my dollar. I will likely not buy triple A again apart from gta lol
Ответитьi think the internet has significantly increased the FOMO people feel if they don't hop on what's trending, and as a result it's utterly impossible to organize boycotts to protest this kind of behavior from companies
ОтветитьI"Ve been saying it for years. Indie game companies make far better, far more polished, and more memorable titles than anything a AAA company has made in the last decade.
Ответитьthis is probably why indie games get so much more attention now
ОтветитьMajority of people are suckers they will pay.
Unfortunately.
It does, but TBH, a lot of things are probably gonna crash in the next four years... so we probably shouldn't root for another one to crash right now.
ОтветитьThing is:
Should game prices go up? Yes, inflation will fuck everyone equally.
Now, should we pay higher prices for 3A games? No, usually they aren't made by game developers but by some executive that is in 10 "board of directors" somewhere and we know those games sucks.
No game should cost that much if they intend on having a online service with the game such as multiplayer and a store front just saying not our fault they spend 1bn to make a bloody game
Ответитьbuying game for full price so early starts to become weird, you paid for it full price and gets punished by bugs, glitches and technical issues, not to mention no dlc are gonna coming out yet
but if you are just patient for a lil bit you can get a discount of a patched game and most likely bundled with some if not all dlc
I'm taking this as financial advice and shorting game corps.
Ответитьif gta 6 is as good as previous gta's then it is worth it. as most games are not as developed as gta games have been and require several hundred patches - at least with gta the patches have been small tidy ups!
ОтветитьI got a $100 Steam gift card for Christmas.
Turned it into 31 games, mainly older ones on steep sales discount and indies.
That'll last me for YEARS and have WAY more variety.
It's better to convince 10 people to buy a $25 game than convince 1 to buy a $100 game.
Poh não sabia que o Monark tinha outro canal.
ОтветитьCelebrating the 10 birthday of "the video game industry needs to crash"
ОтветитьWhile I agree with your sentiment, I think many people are simply not aware that 70 USD in 2025 is worth less than 60 USD did just back 5 years ago. Quality of modern games are debatable but at the end of the day they are just entertainment products not essential goods. While the consumer in 2025 is paying less for a game compared to 5 years ago (due to lower purchasing power per dollar), the studios still have bills and salaries to pay with that reduced amount.
ОтветитьShitflation comes for all
ОтветитьIf a game is to be priced at $100( not saying I will buy it but I might turn my head at it) it better have all the content meaning no dlc expansions , no MT, no battle passes, only in game currency, decent story , fun gameplay and a lot of replay ability. Yes I’m asking for a lot but so are they.
ОтветитьI mean the price is fine imo we have had 60 dollar price games for so long. Gambling is the bigger issue. Unless you buy every game. Price is not the issue.
ОтветитьSomething that goes full corporate is always destined to doom. As long as investors make a quick buck the company in itself is just there to die alongside it
ОтветитьI love playing indie games. getting free DLC, not shilling out $200 a year on a moronic battlepass, and I get to support smaller dev's while I'm at it
anything over $70 is an automatic 🏴☠️ for me
If any ody wants a clear example of what the zombie-gamers enable the AAA companies to do, go look at the trailer for NBA 2k20.
ОтветитьI miss the days when video games were for kids, adults ruined games
Ответитьhello funny man i am here to eat my food
