If your ever walking around Christchurch at night and you hear this...now you know what it is!!!!

Hi, any idea where in the park might be best to spot these/hear them?

Hi you probably know where they are now but in case you don't walk past the coquette club and the tree just before the rubbish bin on the left before the junction of the tracks.... two of my friends have spotted them but i had no luck tonight.
Also Pigeon bay drive down to the water and park your car on grass verge ...Kingfishers on power wires diving into creek to catch fish very hard to get a good shot ....good luck

Wow, I finally know what they are! I knew it had to be some kind of night bird making those cool, creepy noises in Hagley Park, but other than that nothing until finding an entry in the Addington newsletter of the month that suggested looking up their calls.

Bit to much traffic noise sadly

Thought I would have to go travel very far to see these but knowing they are in NZ gives me another reason to visit
