Why does the top of the screen glitch out?

After 20 years I still can't be that dragon final

in my opinion this is not a gret walkthrough for the average player (me below average) it is more a flex at this point since you hd the power up the whole game and never lost it. while i wish i was this good not having the power upo makes the game infinitely harder especially on world 8. I just came here for a walkthrough on how to complete that level and all i got from it was get the power up and spam fireball when you see enemy 😂

Watching this reminds me of the stress I went through playing the harder levels 99 times in a row. (With the 99 limit you'd get cheating in level 3-1) I'd play when I got home late from work because the TV was in my parents living room & I could only play when they were at work or sleeping. I used to be this good but now I'm rusty. I was playing with my niece recently & she laughed every time my guy died & I'd have a frustrated fit.
