Hey Robbie - tonight on the way home in 2 different areas, I found a chair someone was throwing out and a few streets further up, I found an Igloo cooler without a lid. No drain spout. Perfect condition other than no lid. Do you think I could use the cooler to grow in? What should I do for the plants to be successful? Any thoughts? Both are bright red and I'm thrilled to get it set up in my container garden. Come Wednesday. I am getting a kiddie pool and setting a bunch of my containers in it on bricks to raise them. It's been so very hot I think they need the extra water - these grow bags need some help and the buckets do too. I'm gonna feed them that way, too. I'm learning. Wish I could show you my set up :) I'm in Eastern NC. I sure enjoy your videos.
ОтветитьWas excited to do container zucchini but they all got white mildew
ОтветитьAwesome, am about to embark in gardening here I FL & needed to know the easiest way to start which would also be the best economic as well, this is great! Thank you, I believe this will be my route!
ОтветитьLovin' it:) thanks Robbie. Gawsh, you're an amaZing human Be-ing! xoxox
ОтветитьWow, when you are talking about capturing the nutrients that drain out of the container or growing something next to it, that is flipping smart, thank you. I have never heard anyone else cover that concept. Everyone just talks about how the nutrients drain away, but no one is capturing them...
ОтветитьThank you for all this great information and ideas!
ОтветитьI'm in Baton Rouge Louisiana and I am struggling with getting my fall garden started. I planned collards, broccoli, colliflower, and lettuce. The seeds started 9.16.22 in seed starter mix within days. Nothing else happened. someone said that the mix didn't have enough nutrients to get them to the next stage. so, I tried to salvage some of them by moving them to cups with potting soil with fertilizer. I don't think they are going to make it. I'm so sad. How do I get my seeds started again?
ОтветитьThey’re $20 now!
ОтветитьThe poles that are in your totes, what kind are they? Wood, iron etc.?
ОтветитьRobbie, I would love to know if you by chance got inspired by KEYHOLE gardening with your composting in place. I have been Keyhole gardening in dry Texas to conserve water and compost most of my household materials.
ОтветитьTy for the explanation of the plastic- I know many people needed that— also one day ppl need to understand the difference of planting then covering with a mulch and planting with UN composted mulch ! 🤪 I understand many people do not have knowledge or understanding!!
ОтветитьRobbie my boyfriend just started his first tote today. Thank you! Giggles!
ОтветитьI put rotted tree limbs, logs, leaves used napkins RIP shredded paper to fill up my larger raised beds so I need less soil to fill. But I like the 18 gallon containers for cabbage, leafy greens. Broccoli.
ОтветитьI really like the idea of raising the totes off the ground, because i occasionally have bad knee and or back pain. But what can I use instead of plastic chairs? I'm having a hard time finding some like the ones in the video.
ОтветитьI’m not sure about growing food in plastic
ОтветитьI think it would be better in galvanized buckets
ОтветитьI was using that tote already for 3 months, and it was so fabulous.
ОтветитьI am so thankful that I found your video. Great common sense and affordable. Will be following.
ОтветитьI bought me a soldering iron last week. I already love this tool. It’s so handy if you don’t need a drill. Thanks for the great idea!! You are an inspiration!!!
ОтветитьHave you tried growing potatoes or sweet potatoes in totes?
ОтветитьRobbie you were my saviour during the winter, I have watched all your videos over and over again! 😊 we will be going into spring soon and I will be copying all your ideas, take care and stay safe
ОтветитьWhat's the tool you're using to burn holes in the tote? Is that a soldering pen?
ОтветитьI have gotten a soldering iron and a few totes, so I am ready to get going here in GA. Thanks for sharing all of your ideas.
ОтветитьDo you use fresh grass clippings 2? Or just dry matter from around the yard? What about food scrap
ОтветитьThis video is why I started gardening in totes on chairs 😊. Love you Ms Robbie.
Ms Pat from southern Indiana 🌹
awesome, thank you!
ОтветитьCan I plant six cayenne pepper in one tote? This my first year on tote heck I’m excited
ОтветитьI live in Georgia where summers are very wet and humid. We get a lot of rain. That being said should I make holes on the bottom or just the sides will be ok? Someone please advise. Thank you!
ОтветитьGary looks like a martial arts guy
Ответить🙂😉😊😍🤩😇
ОтветитьYou need to be a garden teacher
ОтветитьGreat advice. The reclaiming nutrient-rich water is something I never considered. I'm in So. Cal. too, in one of the beach cities. Any soil advice for growing tomatoes and bell peppers in a 14 gal. container would be appreciated.
ОтветитьHere's how I can remember which plastic code NOT to use in Totes, etc...
"NUMBER 3 IS NOT FOR ME"😉👍🌱🍅
Do you drill drainage holes in the bottom or the sides?
ОтветитьI like one toke at a time myself😁
ОтветитьHi Robbie, what natural fertilizers do you use on your plant.? Thanks
ОтветитьNew grower you idea is very interesting will try , using grow bags not happy with them, thanks
ОтветитьIt's easy for you to plant in stages cuz you can garden year around, up north we only have a certain amount of time to grow so we pretty much have to plant everything in a week or short amount of time to be successful.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьEVERY video has crazy clever ideas? Amazing !
Ответить2024 =$35+ now
ОтветитьTy Robbie 🙏💗💕💓
ОтветитьForever chemicals from plastic.
ОтветитьHi Robi so happy to find your channel, would you please make a video on growing bitter gourd and Loki in containers on the deck in south Ontario near London Canada, love to watch you, please answer
ОтветитьI like the idea of a chair garden - and I already have a bunch of them! I use a stool to sit on in the flower bed. I
Both my shoulders are replaced and I want to make it as easy on myself as possible. The chairs are ideal. Thank you for the information!
Revisited your videos so I can deck garden some - we just got about 24 chickens and we are letting them free range the yard so they are messing up the raised beds 😃
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьRobbie, can you show us how you make all those handy things that you make with tulle, lids, bamboo canes, shade, hoops etc so your vegies & fruits grow successfully, and the tools you use?
ОтветитьTy. You just saved me a ton of money.
