Sony SL-HF100 Betamax - changing video heads for the fun of it!

Well got as far as taking out both power supplies but sorry to say that the connectors are different on the 750 and the 1000D. the 750 has power but its my donner machine, but I've forgotten what is wrong with it. I will now try the next simple fix whixh is to remove the voltage regulator from the working 750 power supply and installing it into the 1000D. Sjame. would of been so much easier to replace the entire power supply.

Time for the moment of truth. I had to let some glue cure on the SL-HF1000D.

Nope. Had power for a bit now nothing. I will try something else.

"Finally cleaned my first hall-effect sensor. SL-HF400. Thought i did great til i saw the close-up pic. Hopefully good enough. Super-glue gel on the cracked plastic traces. And silicone spray on the loading/lacing planetary gears. All preventative, and hopefully effective, measures. Thanks to MrBetaByte for his great videos." Also have some questions..
1. Some of my machines have terrible tracking, e.g., you must constantly adjust tracking to keep the picture (and hifi sound) acceptable. What can make the tracking optimal spot vary? The same tape will play back without issue on another vcr.
2. About the black lacing gear that is prone to cracking, you used a white replacement gear. Do you have a good source for it?
3. What symptoms are present when the head drum becomes too polished/shiny? Would audio-head lube help?

I wish I'd kept my Sony SL-HF100P as it probably would have been good for spare parts. It was a duplicator version (P for Printer I believe), and it had both Hi-Fi and Linear Stereo. The controls for the linear stereo were on the top where the tuning controls would be on a regular deck. I think it had RF out but no tuner.

hi still got all the bad one's i am going to have to do some testing on them very soon
betacam sp i have don't go down alot

i have 2 betacam 1800 as parts one has alot of bad parts in the deck
one has something to do with the servo one has a new head 18 hrs on it i have the pcb with it that
has the cell at full power and pcb is ok
