I Saw Pope Francis, Vatican Vlog! Papal Audience at St. Peter's Square & St. Peter's Basilica

🇮🇹 #ITALY VLOG SERIES

After Vatican Museum, we went to St. Peter’s Square and the St. Peter's Basilica! Unfortunately, the line to enter the #Basilica was too long so we decided to give up. 😅

So we just checked out the square! St. Peter’s Square in #Vatican is a long oval plaza that is surrounded by 140 statues of Saints and Martyrs. It is considered the largest and most beautiful #plaza in the world. 💖

From varying points of view, the statues seem different in size but in actuality they all measure around 3.10 meters. And from the viewpoint, you will see all statues aligned and in their same (actual) size. 😲

Since we were not able to enter #StPetersBasilica, we decided to go the next day before we left for Florence. We were shocked when we arrived because there were a lot of people in line trying to enter #StPetersSquare. 🙈

We had no idea why and just lined up in the hopes that the line will move. After a while, my introvert-self attempted to talk to the people beside us. Luckily, they were Filipina Aunties and they said the #Pope was in the square for #PapalAudience!!! 🤯

The Papal Audience is held every Wednesday and it is attended by thousands of people all over the world. Witnessing this in person is something I did not imagine happening to me anytime soon. We were really lucky!

After this, they opened the Basilica and wow! I did not expect it to be that huge in person. It was really beautiful and definitely worth visiting.
