Can an employment contract be form of 'pre SLAPP'? The contract in question started off with a readability in the double digits then goes negative for the intellectual property section. It is harder to read than most patients!

Can you comment on any differences between English and Scottish defamation law. An organisation I belong to has recently been involved in a situation where it felt exposed to this and the Scottish law was brandished like a crucifix against a demon because nobody understood it and they were terrified by legal risks that were not clear

In some social media groups people who have received a letter addressed to somebody else, often at a different address, say so on line giving the name of the person and in one case I know of also stating who the letter was from ( health visitor) . How can this be legal? Even if it sometimes works. Suppose the actual addressee was a domestic abuse victim or being stalked? To me common sense says just put in post box marked not known at this address

The definition of a reasonable person may have drifted over time. It will vary perhaps from a DUP voter in Belfast to a Hindu resident of Southall. Or a Cornish pub landlord. Context...

If a litigant in person was mentioned disparagingly during ongoing litigation in the JCS Matters newsletter ( that is distributed to judges and legal advisors by the MOJ ) then is that actionable for defamation, contempt or perverting the course of justice?

Does the allegation that a person has committed a crime have to be an actual formal crime named? ie. if you say 'hes a nonce' or 'he stole my shoes' is that an allegation of a sexual offence and a theft? or do you have to say X commited Y sexual offence and X committed theft?

we would be better with proper free speech laws like the US

When the media are ordered to issue a retraction why doesn't the retraction have to have the same reach/effect as the original statement. I am thinking Front page headlines and page 15 bottom right hand corner three scentace retractions.
