I never knew any Sonic fan games but I wouldn’t say their bad.

we are getting worse games slower then decent games faster like in the 2000's

Some of my favourite fangames are just guys who put their heart into their favourite style. Sonic Dimensions is a great one.

To me, I don't think there isn't anything really wrong with Sonic fan-games as long people don't make any profits out of it by using copyrighted characters then there's no problem with fan-games although I do agree with some of your points and see where you are getting at with them like your point about how fan-games kinda make SEGA look kinda bad since they hadn't been doing well when it comes to creating Sonic games lately. Overall I don't have any problems with Sonic fan-games in general but I do respect your opinions about them and do agree with some of the things you said.

Frankly, I am actually really glad Sega is actually taking their time with this new game. It shows that they are taking feedback and ironing out any problems it might have.

I don't think any Sonic Fan Game is better than what SEGA has been putting out, the biggest problem I saw that was with Omens

The problem with fangames is that they give Sonic fans what they WANT, not what they NEED. Wide Open Levels and a Serious Story? Sounds good on paper but in practice, it's not as easy as placing Sonic in an open empty world...

Im fine with sega doing the slow way then rushing it, the old saying go

Honestly SEGA taking their time is something I don't mind. As long as I get a Sonic Game I can enjoy playing with lots of fun levels and gameplay mechanics.

I think that Sonic fangames are a huge part of the Sonic community and in gaming as a whole, we don't usually see big company's like Nintendo or PlayStation allow fans to make fangames for their own reasons and that's where Sega is different and allows their community to flourish with amazing fangames that allow us to see new ideas and creations. Sometimes I wonder why Sega doesn't hire these developers that make these fangames to see what they could make with a big budget and new ideas, but I think financially they might not be able to hire too many people. But thanks for the video! It really got my mind working and it's nice to see people discuss fan content related topics since I've been seeing that a bit lately.

Not all of them are bad, there actually a few creative one that actually has heart and hell have the better side of that fandom, why u think we have SAGE competition, or just for laughs Sonic hack event, and most of them are the 2d Sonic games, hell even a Regimagined Sonic 3 and knuckles port, the point is there more creative people that can do good Sonic fan games, they can be short and but simple, not a full game or anything, just short and simple

Some fan games can be good if fans have heart and effort put into it. Check out the fan game Sonic Omens for instance. If you pay close attention to some of the easter eggs it'll make you geek out as I did.

They aren't, along with being an important part of the community, it also allows people to give they're vision of Sonic and whatever series (gameplay-wise) like fan fiction, of course, when it comes to profiting off an Ip you don't own, that goes without saying, don't do it.

I didn't like the adventure style gameplay but after playing sonic gt the next sonic game if it has adventure style gameplay it should be like sonic gt but personally I would like the next sonic game to be a adventure/boost hybrid style gameplay but who knows it could go back to the adventure style gameplay or continue to use the boost style gameplay or improve the lost world style gameplay or a entirely different gameplay style who knows but it should be a good game we can not have another mediocre or bad game or it will kill sonic as a video game character.

Not all, I do like to play games like sonic robo blast 2. It's a really cool way to bring sprites into the third dimension. I also like sonic gt, it's an awesome 3d game. I hate sonic project hero, it has so much potential, but now it's turning into a classic sonic fan game

I'll be pissed off if they mess up again, if that happens then I'm so done with this now-terrible franchise for good.

Totally agree with you about this being the true dark age of Sonic, but as for your point about fan expectation on Sega. I feel that it's really Sega' s own fault it got to this point. They are great that they allow fans to do all this but they themselves don't really put in effort one the whole, so even if they have artists and such who are passionate they are dragged down by the project management. Sonic not doing great so we shouldn't expect big games is partially true, but sonic also won't start doing great until they make a successful big game. Sega just have to try and not short change development.

Well, Sonic Fan Games are well, sometimes awesome, passionate, and dedicated. :2 heck Sega does allow the fans to do whatever they want, something that Nintendo is doing the opposite. =w=

I think the reason y the 2005 to 2009 sonic games are referred to the dark era of sonic is because of the quote unquote "unfitting or dark topics" with everybody going like OMG GUNS SWORDS WEREWOLF HEDGEHOG HYBRIDS SONIC GOT KISSED BY A HUMAN PRINCESS(that one is understandable) VILLAINS WITH DARK MOTIVES AND BACKSTORY I think the dark era name was given by the internet critics and yeah I agree we are in the dark era of sonic right now BUT the internet critics probably think that this is the best era of sonic instead of villains with engaging backstory lets have villains like Zavok who have no depth and just play it safe and the reason y we are getting bad games is because of the internet critics going "omg it has all 3d no no no 06 did that don't get this game" the internet critics HAVE to talk about how bad 06 was before talking about the new game seriously this is y we arent getting the GOOD games we used to because the internet critics using 06 to give Sega the wrong idea that we dont want more than 3 playable characters with depth or that we dont want ALL 3d sonic games and interestingly some people dont like SA and SA2 because they had all 3d like 06 did because anymore it just the childish game of HE DID THIS AND IF U DO IT U SUCK

These days I like to believe the community just likes to suck off the artists and indie developers more than anyone else. It’s like the opposite of corporate sucking, but imo worse.
