I'm not sure is this true or not but I heard a couple of times from different reviews that watching movies on Apple TV box are much better high quality in terms of everything then if you use built-in Apple TV app in any Smart TV and watching same content. i heard that built-in Apple tv app for example even if it says under movie dolby vision or dolby atmos in reality it does not show real 100% dolby vision or atmos, the colors are just a little different or dynamic tone is different in a movie or highlights are different but when you watch same movie using Apple TV box you notice that the movie much higher quality colors are richer and so on. is that true

Hi, Good review and may consider updating to latest model. But can you help, I am in uk and use Netflix, Disney, Apple TV etc through my tv provider in Sky. I see you have an amp as I do, I use a Yamaha amp with Kef in wall speakers in 5.1 system If I use my tv provider my amp picks the DSP sound I have set, however if I watch using Netflix app or use Apple 4k tv it changes the sound field on amp and does not sound as good. So is it better to use apps on tv and Apple TV 4K or my sky q tv provider.. I am an apple family subscriber so have full Apple TV

Hi Josh. I watch a lot of NBA games on NBA League Pass, and I use the Airplay to cast to my LG TV, but I feel that a lot of quality is lost. Have you watched sports in the Apple TV 4K? I'm not sure if I should go with the Apple TV 4K or the Nvidia Shield TV Pro

Samsung smart TVs from the 2023/2024 models don't support Dolby Vision, but streaming devices like Roku or the newer versions of the Apple TV box do support Dolby Vision. When you watch movies through these devices connected to a TV, does the TV itself show movies in Dolby Vision or not?

Great video Josh! In my setup I have the latest Apple TV 4K. In fact, may OLED LG is used only as a simple monitor because I have an HDMI switch. In terms of sound, I have the new SONOS ARC ULTRA, a SONOS SUB-MINI and two SONOS ERA-300. Almost feeling in theater with DOLBY ATMOS sound. Thank you!

ROKU is $100 cheaper & does more. It's a video box, & doesn't need a big CPU to display hardware decoded video streaming... The big plus of the Roku is all the completely FREE content. Apple+Free are two words generally not paired together. If you want to add more like Paramount+, etc. - Roku does all that too.
Push that $100 savings to a better or bigger Screen.

I hate the remote. It's too sensitive. It's hard to navigate around the screen using the touch pad without it jumping around. They should come out with another universal remote. And yes, I know I can turn off the touch pad, but then it's hard to fast forward or go back. It also doesn't support 120Hz, only 60Hz.

Stupid question. Is Netflix part of the included apps? I have an Apple TV that l got in 2016 and Netflix is no longer in the menu.

Yah I tried to play a 31gb 4k HDR10+ movie on my iPhone 14 and well I understand why it stuttered a lot while it was playing. So instead I just watched the 11gb one

Trying to watch Apple TV+ on my laptop. They have some good shows/movies, but as soon as I get into the vibe of it, it bloody freezes. Why isn't it more accommodating to non-Apple systems? Profit? Get with it.

I have the device being reviewed, and I have really enjoyed it. My TV, a Sony smart model, has a great picture, but the TV’s OS (a retarded version of Android) has never been activated, nor shall it ever. The OS is completely inadequate from a security standpoint. As with other Apple products, security of the Apple TV is relatively tight.

The fact you can turn on and off the TV connected is so cool! I always hated having 2-3 remotes for Tv/sound/video source devices.

So my question is when I watch movies iv bought on apple from store in my library can I choose my Extras because on my amazon stick I have there is no options Eg iv bought Aliens and most have a special edition but I can only watch the normal version because there is no extras menu like there is on my phone or my iPad and if there is not then there is no use in buying this

What limitations does it have when comparing to Google Streamer? It's an apple product after all and I have none already. edit: nevermind, Apple TV does not support Atmos or HDR on Plex, making all my movies unplayable. Too bad.
