Is there any chemotherapy or immunotherapy options for rats

I’m sorry for your loss ❤ You did the best thing for him. One of my first rats unfortunately had this and at the time I didn’t know what it was. I will NEVER forget the smell.

My girl had to be PTS because of a Zymbals gland tumor a few weeks ago. At first I just noticed a smell (no swelling yet) and I took her to the vet. The vet took swabs from her ears and said she had an ear infection. After a few days the swelling started and we knew it was a Zymbals gland tumor.
I would just like to find out, can these tumors cause ear infections?

Rodents in general can develop really scary growth and tumors besides chinchillas , they are not predisposed to growth

What do you think about people who don’t believe in euthanasia?
I know a blogger who lives her rats but she doesn’t believe in letting them go , I personally could never watch an animal suffer it always regret if I wait too long before helping them cross over, sometimes it’s hard to know when 🙁

I'm so sorry for your loss 😢❤ we are going through the same scenario with our Winston. The vet says it can wait until monday, but it is growing rapidly. We are almost a 100% sure it's a ZGT, solid as a rock, shaking his head, wobbly balance and since today he isn't active at all.. should we call him back/go to emergency vet? I'm not sure what to do here..

ZGT don’t half smell like you said they have a particular smell to them. Just like you’re Rat my crunchies. ZGT came up within 36 hours and I booked him into the vets on the morning of his appointment, the ZGT started to open he was put to sleep at the vets, they also did the cannula in his tail?
