One of my weaknesses in your Simple Daily Practice video, is when going C-D-E-F-G & G-F-E-D-C
A different finger on each hand wants to lift on every note change. I play very slow with my eyes closed now. It helps. I think that it's my eagerness to want to play faster & better is what's holding me back.

When I went through the five finger exercises', I said to myself, there has got to be a better way. I soon found that yes there was. It uses the ear as a guide to the development of chords outside the standard harmonic standard. I first had to clear my mind of what piano teachers deem correct and expand my mind to accept a wider idea of what is musical. although it took lots of practice it was not too long to find a whole new approach time signatures, chord changes, and development section, in a new look at music. These changes led me to writing music for 6 ballet companies in New York City.

How did she go from the chord notation on Imagine to knowing what to play in what hand and how? Looked like magic to me.

As a guitarist for decades I really like Ultimate Guitar. I'm just starting piano. Question, what are your thoughts on having the circle of fifths as a reference?

But I'm not a beginner, Im just a crappy adult player. I can actually play quite well, i'm almost a true "intermediate" so getting "childrens" lessons turns me off. I wish there was a way to truly guage a player's attained level. Some sort of a "Home Test" which is comprehensive and geared towards determining where a person is weak, noticing nuances in hand positions, etc. etc. etc. This way I can skip all the things I already know and just concentrate on the things I need to learn or get better at in order to bring those abilites equal to whatever other abilities I already posess. See?

The website for "ultimate guitar" has a - (dash). ultimate-guitar. I made a mistake and put a . (period). I thought the website was obsolete. Glad I rewinded and took another look at the website name. I corrected it and it is still there. Happy about that, and about not giving up so easily.

Hmmm... my hands/wrists won't bend enough to play the chords on the left side of the keyboard with my right hand and vice versa. Is it a body position/technique thing, or am I just a total klutz? Thanks for sharing your expertise!

I'm the lucky guy. I want to play scales and exercises. I had access to pianos and took some lessons decades ago. I did pretty good, learned how to read music and started working out of a graded instructional composition series called Mikrokosmos (Bartok). Learning chord progressions and doing self-accompaniment to your vocals can be fun and can help your voice if voice is your priority. If you want to learn traditional keyboard or play modern keyboard in any genre, you have to learn by the known methods. Of course there are alternative methods including methods that do not involve written music, but you have to follow a method whatever it is. If you do it all on your own somehow, you will find out that you did duplicate a known method after all.

What I struggle most with practicing a piano? Wondering if I should buy Roland FP-10/Casio CDP-S110 or maybe Roland FP-30x/Kawai ES120 ;)

اخه تو وقتی کسخلی زور می زنی ادم باشی به چه دردی می خوره ادم بخواد یه با ادب ببینه می ره یکی که خودش با ادبه یا هرچی می بینه. کسخلی باید همون باشی چون تو اون خوبی دیگه. بعد کلا فکر کردی کامیونتی فارسی یوتوب چقدره؟ یه چسه ادمه کلا بعد از اونم کلا یه چسه هست که گیم پلی می ده از اونم یه چسه که ممکنه با تو حال کنه. و در کل ام خودتو با کسی که چند ساله معروف شده مقایسه نکن.

Is this only for finger practice placement. But on a real song, are fingers placed as per pianist comfort ?
