Ok so the resistance of the sensor should rise when it's placed in the ice, if it doesn't it's faulty. What about if the sensor is reading wrong? I.e. it is reading 2 degrees C but the actual temperature is 10 degrees C?

Very very informative video. I have a Daewoo frost free fridge in which one sensor plug is in empty : it's a 2 pin socket and the sensor is not found in it plugged. The fridge upper freezer is cooling where as the bottom portion is not getting the chilled airflow though the exhaust type fan is working. The fridge Model is FR3801 of Korean make. I am now in Ranipet industrial area which is 130 km away from Chennai. Here I didn't have any qualified technician being myself trained in electronic servicing I feel if I get expert advice to rectify the fault myself. Hope you will be in a position to help me out. I request you to provide the electrical diagram of the above fridge so that it will be of help for me in future. Kindly post the details in the reply /comment section so that I can download load your advice if given in the form of a writeup. Thanks and regards. Awaiting eagerly your reply.

Could you please explain why the resistance measured with the multimeter increases with decreasing temperature of the sensor. Reducing temperature would be expected to lower resistance.

You say to connect the multimeter to the electrical connections but you don't show this. To which electrical connections? On the sensor? On each end of the sensor? This would be the main action and this is not clear. On to the next explanation.

Google the "samsung refrigerator thermistor resistance chart" and test the sensor's resistance in both room temperature and in a glass of ice water. It should be within a few % of the resistance values for the specified temperature on the chart... if not, replace it.
