For your question after the first minute, there a simple, indisputable answer for that. In fighting scenes, everything detail in the scene needs to easily be visible for the audience. If there was a split screen it would be harder to see. Also, 2 fighting scenes would be going on at the same time could be too much for the audience to comprehend. There is no doubt that someone will have to skip back at least once to see all the details in both scenes. This would be especially disappointing for the people in the theaters. Also, it just adds to the run time for 2 fight scenes, so why the f*ck not?

Fun but another lazy movie, they didn't even use Hobbs daughter from the fast films, it has all the daft stuff from the franchise and no matter how much cgi and action there is you never feel like anyone is in danger..

I think you're forgetting about the fact that when they latched onto the helicopter with their truck the helicopter struggled to lift off because of that truck but as soon as the others came that helicopter had no issue lifting one truck hence why the trucks needed to latch onto each other to keep the helicopter there.
