Mkx succeeds for being really fun, and not around for the current age of consumption.
Mkx was not the best Mk to me for these reasons.
Mkx story was awful and butchered power scaling it also introduced some of the blandest characters besides kollector.
Until mkxl the balance was actually insanely bad, and the gameplay was so quick newer players would have an extremely unfair learning curve.
the roster argument is literally bias because the past 4 have damn near the same roster, but mkx does have the best Dlcs minus bo, tanya.
In terms of costumes pretty good, but I'll prefer the previous 2 cause at least you can earn the costumes, and am not required to buy them.
The Poke throw meta is boring, but can very easily be fixed.
Gameplay is what makes or breaks an mk.
Mk11 is now Being looked back on differently, and tbh its because initial impressions of the game being slow.
Maximilian himself even said he never really put effort into learning the game which is the difference in these current 2.
Most people cannot jump in, and play like a rushdown sped; you will get stomped. You have to think about what youre doing, and be creative outside of just combos.
Mkx , and 11 are for different players.
Mk1 does feel rushed, but even with Khaos shit stains Its very good, and every time they add something the game feels way better.

Keep updating invasions

Update the monetization tbh kameos should be free even if timegated to releases.
The launch really developed a bias against mk1.

Mortal Kombat 1, or Mortal Kombat Strive as I like to call it proves that fighting games might actually have the worst monetization along with MOBA.
1. Mobile tier microtransactions in a full priced game.
2. Over reliance on dlc, often revealed way before release.
3. Games only have 1v1 PvP.
4. Your expected to learn by labbing in training for 5000 hours while constantly researching some loser’s wiki for every hit’s data.
5. Games die out super quick because only nolifers play online
6. Matchmaking or netcode is always broken

The Dualist spheres have to be paused mid-flight with the same input and they detonate after some time. It's a setup variation just like Master of Storms.

MKX and MK11 are FARRRRR BETTERRRRRRR than MK1 will EVER BE! And MKX is #1. Im 41 and I put more time in MKX than any other game PERIOD! Over 1660 hours. And the story was SICK with the QTE's! I spent $350 on the trash kollectors edition of MK1. Played it for 7 hours and never touched it again. I then bought the expansion thinking maybe its a proper complete game now... ummmm NOPE 🤬💔🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🖕🏾MK1

The ONLY complaint I have is that Freddy was in MK9 instead of MKX. They should have put Leatherpuss in MK9 instead! I really wanted my FvJ matchup. Atleast we got AvP haha.

I dislike Woke-tal Kombat X because its the game where Woke started to infect the franchise. covered up Iess feminine fem chars, maIe chars softened and weakened, shoving kombat kids in fans faces the whole story, teens beating the strongest characters even in their undead forms, some california teen girl beating a f ing Elder God, story was a bad joke. but at least it had good gameplay, so it was still playable. Woke-tal Kombat 1 doesnt even have good gameplay or anything good at all

Mkx is peak modern MK yes. When my only true xomplaint thats a make or break is that their's too many third party DLC characters? Like alien and predator? I like Cassie but Cassie Cage was a Mary Sue girlboss who somehow defeats Shinnok despite her taking the most Ls against the other fighters throughout the story mode until it's her chapter lol. Would've been better if Earthrealm and Outworld teamed up to battle Shinnok and defeat him.

The game needs a remaster to give a fresh touch-up on not just the overall visuals but the models and other various fixes on gameplay and etc imo.

The perfect MK game would be MK9 Roster with MKX style gameplay and MK11 Graphics with the darker vibe of the older games and richer content and full customization.

As much as I love Liu Kang as a character, in MK1 I think he made Sektor into an angsty, overly ambitious tech-girl who happens to be in love with this timeline’s angsty edgelord of a “grandmaster” (Kuai Liang/Sub-Zero is much more dignified than current Bi-Han is Noob Saibot or not). Meaning that these two couples wouldn’t be taken seriously now. Also is it just me or is this Sektor more whinier than Frost?

The only thing i agree about MK1 is that the fighting paste is a little bit faster then 11. Not too fast that you'll get stuck in the corner in 3 secs not too slow that almost every move is blocked.
