Just one correction, Ubuntu Unity 23.04 comes with PulseAudio yet. The version of Unity is 7.7 while 22.10 comes with 7.6. In 7.7 the dash was redesign for exemple.

Somehow this was the way I found ubuntu budgie and I like it more then windows so I am sticking with it.
Also I am actually NOT using the redmond and instead just the default cause I just like it better

The new installer looked fine until you reached page 3 through 5 where all the contents are shifted to the left and we can see the usual lack of attention to details shining as usual. SMH. 🙄

That's cool that they're offering a Cinnamon version now. While I don't use it now (I use Pop OS), when I was using Linux Mint, it was my go-to DE.

Budgie is such a disgrace. Why does it seem like they add a new (separate) settings application every freaking release ?

I tried several times to install it or update from older versions. After install graphic drivers, it does no boot 😵‍💫

I would recommend not using 23.03 desktop at least for now. It is very very buggy. The installer crashes and even if you get it installed the os has a lot of errors.

Autohidetopbar is not supported in this version of ubuntu 23.04

Upgrading borked nfs mounting in fstab for me so I hopped away from Xubuntu on my NAS VM. After debloating XFCE Linux Mint, i'm running on half the cores and half the RAM I had to dedicate to Xubuntu, so it will probably be many moons before I go back.

I am new to Linux and learnt using Ubuntu, I have Ubuntu on my desktop and just installed Kubuntu on the laptop. I plan on trying all the Ubuntu flavours over a few months and slowly moving through all Linux distro's, while i learn how to use them properly. It's really enjoyable to try all of these different OS's on one machine while keeping the most stable on my main device so I can do my uni work. I'll probably try Debian as my first non Ubuntu distro because I will be familiar with Sudo and apt etc.

I'm waiting for the Aangry Aardvark release.

I set up dual-boot, Ubuntu 22.10 and Windows 7
22.10 was a flake job.
Selected whines, no particular order:
Getting borders on windows is a pain, if at all possible.
Characters display too small. Changing them is a career.
emacs menu fails. OK, maybe an emacs bug.
Finding a decent backup program is a career, assuming one exists.
Out of the blue, need to turn off GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER.
Need "sudo update-grub". Whodathunk?
Relying on the user community for support is cute, but not mature.
Ubuntu boot is inconsistent. Numerous error messages appear
Occasional kernel panic.
grub-customizer helped with organizing the multi-boot menu.
The need for grub-customizer is a surprise.
Ubuntu runs with local time but system is on Greenwich after "Restart" Windows

Sad, but 23.04 is very unstable :( errors, lags.... no :( Waiting for zorin when they update to newer gnome

I tried dpkg --configure -a but it's not working please help me

Looks good - but will not connect to the internet via my WiFi. It connected via my phone - but would not install 3rd party apps. Back to IOS !

Net manager applet is painful. My internet is via satellite and the link is a bit flaky. When the applet appears I right click on the launcher and quit!!

I am having a bug in my Ubuntu 23.04 installation since I installed Anydesk remote desktop. I cannot open more than 4 tabs in any browser (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc.), and the minimize and maximize buttons do not work in any browser.
