KVILE - Om kvelden

Recorded in the church Chiesa valdese in Bergamo october 2023. It´s a part of the concept KVILE where nordic folk music and psalms are played live over a soundscape from Osterbotten in Finland.

In the evening when it gets dark and everyone goes to rest
Then I close for stables and for barns.
And the sparrows they spend the night in their little nests.
Then you too will probably go to your hut.
But since I do not know that make time go by,
For in the long nights then I long so.
Then I have no desire to sleep.

Now you stand in front of the mirror and comb your hair
How black and so serious is your eye.
Then your heart beats, but why it beats
You do not know that yet.
For now, no one has been allowed to get close to you.
But over the chair hangs your poor clothes,
Your skirt and your socks and your sweater.

It's getting dark across the road and autumn is approaching,
And the mist it thickens over meadows On the paths in the forest, many have gone astray,
And the stars they rise so strict.
But can you not come tonight little friend,
Then send me a message and tell me when you will come again.
I've not seen you in so long.
