I’ve never heard a better case for atheism. Superb. This ten minutes should at least be heard and considered by all believers.

His bestseller “God Is Not Great” was the reason I first woke the fuck UP from years of superstitious dreaming. Of course the other horsemen + other intellectuals such as Lawrence Krauss, Dan Barker, Brian Greene, Michael Shermer, Hitch’s friend Stephen Fry, and also 20th century scientists such as Hawking, Sagan, Asimov and many more followed. I’m glad to have accidentally discovered Hitch’s book, bought it and read it in the first place. I’m forever glad!

Salute to intellectuals, honest scientists, and salute to anyone who consciously chooses to work and strive to contribute to science and civilisation & oppose ancient, infantile, primitive, long outdated archaic superstitions, regardless of the brand name and logo!

Religion doesn’t condemn slavery; it advocates and endorses it! Along with so many other different forms of crimes against humanity and against life! Religion also hijacks morality and claims it’s the source of it, whereas religion itself is the opposite of what’s moral. And morality isn’t this absolute, dogmatic set of orders. The fact about morality is that it is very much subjective, situational, flexible and so it does evolve, unlike religion (unless “made to” be reformed forcibly, ergo religious reformations throughout centuries, a.k.a. Enlightenment reforms, a.k.a. Renaissance).

Religion is a headless chicken that must and needs to be allowed to die off and we’ll finally become far more of a rational civilisation. Of course we need also to completely abandon our religious and cultural mentality as well, along with religion.

Religions being afraid to modernize their thought pattern ideologies is baffling to me. So much more wisdom and fulfillment would be attained. Those in charge must feel threatened or something. Thats why they want everyone to stay dumb. Either that or they are just that stupid themselves. Who knows. I dont.

People like Dawkins and Hitchens are (were) enchanted by their intellects, their command of English and their ability to dazzle many people with written and (in Hitchen's case also) spoken English. Their crusade against stupid religious people is largely an endeavor to aggrandize their own enormous egos.
Jesus, Buddha, and all the major profets made a point of teaching how to gain wisdom by eliminating the ever destructive ego. Dawkins imagines that reverance for "scientific truth" will provide meaning for mankind. Hitchens was more down to earth; his comfort was - whiskey.

I lack belief the universe can come about into existence and contain life and intelligence, human beings, without there being creative outside inteligence. Apart from universe. Atheism is logically flawed, it will never be validated our universe requires no God, outside creative intelligence. The brilliant atheist, Stephen Hawing, tried and failed to verify a God (outside intelligence) is unnecessary. God is logical. It is atheism which is a far fetched view of our universe.

It all developed from scientific laws on their own. Created us. Is ultimately the reason you are reading this. Scientific laws did it all by themselves. No outside intelligence. Yeah, Steven, sure they did. All by themselves.

Because there is a law like gravity, the universe with you is here now. Laws came into existence mixing on their own all by themselves and made you and me and everything we can know. See? Laws. no god. Atheism is the flawed, ridiculous view. Not belief.

My argument is this, how does anyone of a modern day religion feel about the ancient gods of Egypt?
Nice to hear about maybe, it's a curiosity but ultimately it's all made up (mythology) but to those people those gods were the be all and end all of everything... Where are they now?

Atheism is not a view showing intelligence. It is a guess, mostly by people who don't like to think there is something intelligent out theer which created them and is far more powerful than them. I think there must be outside intelligence. Creative intelligence.

Human beings did not come to be by a random mixing together of self made scientific laws. Isaac Newton, one of the most intelligent humans of all time, is generally viewed this way. Even Einstein felt this way about Newton. Newton believed there must be a God. No other reason for the existence of human beings evolving ultimately from single cells makes any sense.

Gotta be some sort of outside intelligence, particularly given the fact that evidence continues to predict that the universe has not always existed. Logical for humans to believe in a creative outside intelligence, God. Atheism necessarily views the emergence of intelligent life, human beings, happening by chance. A chance conglomeration of energy, matter, and scientific laws made you? You agree with this? This ultimately, is atheism. No outside creative intelligence behind it all, no GOD. This is harder to accept as reality, than is belief in God, in my view.

I would have liked to debate Hawkins. He simply argues that religious beliefs like how you should act, etc., are wrong. He has no idea how atheism can be backed with evidence. Cause it can't There is no evidence supporting atheism. Stephen Hawking an extremely intelligent man worked for decades trying to surmise how atheism can be verified. Never came close. and I like the guy, respect the guy.

Outside intelligence, a creator of sorts, is logical, in my view. There has to be a God. I think so. some type of outside superior intelligence.

Atheists can't show how a God CANNOT exist. Thisis the downfall of atheism why Newton said that atheists are so senseless. Illogical to think a universe which began into existence and contains intelligent life requires no outside crative intelligence. A creator, God, is logical. Atheism is hogwash. I wish so I had CH when I was beginning my journey of realistic thought, back when I was nine. Fighting to hide my thoughts and intentions from my family, friends, school the church and the clergy.
I think it would have my journey quicker and more focused. As it was it took me 10 years to loose my fear of hell, the last thing to go, and transform into a rational being. (Mostly).
