It Follows (2014) Movie REACTION!!

The lead also stars in another sci-fi thriller with Gary Oldman, it's called TAU. I liked it a lot, but I think it kind of fell into the Birdbox category. It didn't work for everyone.

I dont think "it" is a metaphor for STIs; I think "it" is a metaphor for sexual assault. Think about it. It often takes the form of people you know, because the perpetrators are often people you know. No one believes the victims except direct witnesses and people who've been through it themselves. No one sees the perpetrator even when the victim points right at them. No one believes them, they just see the trauma left behind. And a lot of victims often try to regain feel like theyre moving on from their assault and becoming "normal" again by having sex with someone new.

I was so tense leaving the theater that I had to do full body stretches because I had trouble walking my muscles were locked up tight. 😂

They've announced a second movie called "They Follow". Same creator and even the main girl returns.

Disasterpiece, who made the score for this movie, is a freaking genius. He also made the soundtrack for one of my favourite video games, Hyper Light Drifter.

The music really elevated this movie. Unsettling and hypnotic. It Follows is a brilliant film but not everyone liked it though.

And.... There's a surprise sequel coming: They Follow. Same director. Maika Monroe is returning. Not sure about the others though.

Of all the "non-stop" demon conundrums, this seems like a pretty easy one to solve. Fly across an ocean and never have sex again. Die of old age while "it" walks across the bottom of the ocean. Everyone in the sex chain also dies of old age. Boom! Chain broken.

I finally watched this over the weekend (AWESOME film) and just realized on your rewatch the likely the reason the neighbor didn't see "it" up until he died was because he had sex with the other girls he was flirting with and passed it to them. It only went after him again after it had killed whoever else he had sex with prior. Which begs the question--how is this town so quiet with so many unexplained deaths occurring?!

Can you guys react to Angels Of Darkness? It's a movie. From the same year this (It Follows) came out 2014.

Adding more films will take away from this movie in my opinion. It creates an atmosphere of dread and having a minimal understanding is a huge part of that dread.

It reminds me of the original Halloween. The wide shots and the music.

The only sleep you’d get is in a moving car

I love the ending, to be honest.

The ending doesn't tell you whether or not they succeeded in their bizarre, ridiculous plan to defeat "it."

So, the ending to me, shows they're just trying to exist with each other now, in hopes that they are now free, and it never tells you in the last shot if the person behind them is "it" or just a regular pedestrian.

And I guess we're getting a sequel, so!

The soundtrack and cinematography are extremely '80's.

Possible solution: have sex with an astronaut in Europe. Wait for that lumbering thing to reach Normandy Beach, then fly astronaut to Florida for a mission, then launch to space. Send a replacement astronaut to pass it to, so they can wait at the space station, and the other goes home, and so on forever. On Earth, have guards who are in the chain, so they can check the STDemon doesn't hitch a ride, if it even understands the concept of space travel.

If something like that happened to me in real life, I'd be contacting the Catholic church and any other kind of demon fighters I could think of.

The movie is a part of the 'Horror Renaissance' from 2014/2016, which was including four smaller productions. The genre needed those very creative movies cuz it went to shit the years before.

One thing that stuck with me in this movie that I'm not sure happened with anybody else was the awkward placement of the color red in certain parts: 1st was the girl with the red heels, 2nd was the lead girl's fingernail polish, and 3rd was the cloud of blood in the pool

What a stupid movie. So what's the devil's ultimate goal? To eliminate all the entire population? Very silly

It seems there's a sequel planned, "They Follow" (see on IMDB), but there's no date of release or any other details, except the protagonist will still be Maika Monroe.

The fact that it often takes on a parent always stuck with me.
I wonder if it's meant to be commentary on how abuse is so often coming from inside a home or if that's meant to signify something else entirely.

I definitely think it's supposed to signify that a lot of sexual abuse survivors have suffered it from a parent - the part where the neighbor guy sees the thing take the form of his mother and then you see it literally having sex with him and killing him.
