From one actual former Jarhead to an honorary one. - Semper Fi! I was stationed at P.I. for two years. In summer it is brutal! Sand fleas roam around in clouds.
ОтветитьThank you Pat for taking the time go and share. I was there summer of 1984 and it changed my life forever...
ОтветитьGod I remember the sand fleas. Boot camp was hell but the life I have and have built from it is a blessing. The Marine Corps built the man I am today coming from aging out of foster care with no future. Semper Fi. Oh Rah! Pat!
ОтветитьHaving the courts give that option would be something to bring back for lower crimes.
ОтветитьNo video?
ОтветитьAs a US Army Veteran I have the highest respect for those jarheads 😂 jokes aside those boys know how to fight!
ОтветитьOooh Rahhh !
ОтветитьDrill Instructor duty at Parris Island was my favorite as a Marine . 1st Bn Aco 1984-87 and 2nd Bn Fco 1988-90. SEMPER FI !!!
ОтветитьHell yea Charlie Company, they made this Marine
Ответитьamazing video. Pat's recollection brought back so many memories. I was pre crucible, but remember ever step of the way. Also, is Pat knife handing a bit more than usual? lol
ОтветитьSemper Fi. Go climb that hill in San Diego next Pat
Ответитьlol what convenient timing..
ОтветитьArmy here, but it's pretty cool hearing this and seeing the marines get a shout-out
ОтветитьGreat video and thanks for showing how bad ass Marines are. I am retired Navy and out of my 22 years of service I spent 15 with various Marine Corps commands. Can you guess what my job was?
Semper Fidelis Marines!!!
Pat, your motivation in telling your experience is just like a new Marine telling his buddies back home. Great job sharing your experience. Semper Fi.
ОтветитьSaved my life!!! 1985.
ОтветитьSalute to The Marines ! And To Pat !
Went into Marine Corps Boot Camp at 19 years old in January of 2000..
Thank you, Sir.
GOD Bless 🇺🇸
Thank you for the recognition of not only Marines, but the military as a whole. It seems these days that if you’re not an “operator” then nobody cares. They act like you just signed the dotted line and then went to a unit and are basically a civilian with gear. Thank you, this meant a lot. Semper Fi
ОтветитьEHHH RAHHH
Ответить1st Battalion Bravo Company, PLT 1041. Graduated May 29th, 2015 and served as a Combat Engineer for 4 years. Oorah!! SFMF
ОтветитьCWO Yarbrough is a Parris Island Legend
ОтветитьMy son arrived at Parris Island on June 3rd! PLT 3306 Lima
ОтветитьSemper Fi🇺🇸
ОтветитьI may not be a Marine, but have been made an honorary Marine rifleman and mortarman many times over as an FMF Corpsman. The warrior mentality is strong in the infantry, the weakness gets weeded out eventually, even if it takes a bit. We will be just fine, but best believe our enemies won’t.
ОтветитьHell yeah Pat I was PlT 1034 Charlie Company January 29-april 27 01 served Ten Years SemperFI they definitely Make Marines at PI !
ОтветитьThank you Pat for visiting our beloved Parris Island and seeing for yourself the making of a Marine. I am an alumni from 1991. Once a Marine always a Marine!
Ответить1st Battalion Charlie Company? Not everyone can be 3rd Battalion Mike Company.
ОтветитьOohhrrraaahh, @Pat Mc Afee. Hollywood Marine here. Graduated September 1985.
ОтветитьPaid to advertise the corps since numbers are in the turlet
ОтветитьAs someone who is currently in the recruitment process with the army. A lot of marine videos have been popping up on my timeline and it’s kinda pulling me in I know theirs a lot more opportunities with the army but I’m 21 years old and have nothing going for me other than a highschool diploma from 3 years ago marines just seem like the branch that will shape me into a person I’m trying to be 2 of my cousins served in the marines and so did my brother they all say go to army or airforce but deep down I know they’d be proud if I became a marine just like them
ОтветитьI was stationed down there. The sand fleas and heat/humidity were brutal. No mountains like on the west coast, but it had its challenges. Semper Fi Pat for giving it a go
ОтветитьWhere the video of Pat down Parris Island?
ОтветитьIt’s a shame that you couldn’t have went out to the old 3rd Battalion training barracks and seen boot camp out there, Pat. Mike Co. Plt 3097 3rd Recruit Training Battalion 1992. I’ve never forgotten you Ssgt Breckinridge.
ОтветитьSemper Fi Pat!
ОтветитьThe timing of this is video awesome!! We're getting ready to leave for San Diego to watch my oldest son graduate as a Marine next week, and I couldn't be more proud of him!!
He left for boot camp 3 weeks after his 18th birthday, and I don't think I could have done what he's doing at his age. The more I learn about the Marines, the more I'm impressed with them and with him!! The Sandboxx updates every week have been awesome for us parents that have never taken such a journey.
SD might be too close to Hollywood for most of us, but the Reaper hill at the end of the Crucible is what was on his mind in his last letter.
My family has all served in the Army and I appreciate all branches of our Military, but I'm learning that Marines are built different. Thank you all for your service!!
Semper Fi 🇺🇸💪🏽
US Army infantry OSUT is 22 weeks long and us and the marines can easily handle business
ОтветитьI was Army, been out 14 years and still live that schedule
ОтветитьI forgot to mention that I earned a college degree and served 34 1/ 2 as a federal law enforcement agent.
ОтветитьI laughed at the Ranger on the toilet! Too funny!
ОтветитьThis was fantastic!! Thank God for the United States Marines!
ОтветитьGo join the “Hollywood Marines” now and you can go up The Reaper AT THE END OF THE CRUCIBLE.
ОтветитьAlso…it’s “AYE AYE SIR!”
Just know you experienced 1/4 of the reality of a real Marine boot camp
Hearing Pat Mcafee having “aye sir” embedded into his soul and repeating it sounding like one of us just brings a smile to my face 😂
Ответитьas a hollywood marine we climbed mtns not swamps
ОтветитьHey Pat, The Drill Instructor Cover on Their Head is Know as a " Campaign Cover", Thank You again U.S.M.C. San Diego.
ОтветитьThat phone call is one of the craziest parts of boot camp. At mcrd they drop everyone at night, and you stay up like 36 hours that first day. Its controlled chaos. So it's like 3am back home, mom picks up and its that rapid fire reading. She said all she heard after I was done with reading off that card. was a bunch screaming, a few death threats, and the line went dead. She called her brother, retired Marine, and relays this asking if she should call the police. He laughed his ass off, and said that I was fine. Relatively speaking, then hung up😂
ОтветитьI watched all 3 of his dads championship series with the bulls at the old chicago stadium. They were insane. I forget how crazy it was. The stadium before they built the united center. The demand to watch those games was crazy. They started selling standup spots in the concourse. Being chicago, and when the cops and firefighters had a degree of free rein....it never got shut down for occupancy. It was small enough also that even concourse standing was a good view. As a Marine hearing that loved guys kid became a DI made my day. 😊
ОтветитьDoes anyone else feel the need to watch Full Metal Jacket or maybe Jarhead?
ОтветитьI remember MCRD like it was yesterday. 1979. Pat, the Corp, taught me to internalize I could achieve anything if I chose to do it. Nothing is like it.
