I did not realize there was a new standard for EQ frequencies --Bass, Mids and Tone.

This review needs a little help. I have this bass and it actually sounds good. It is possible to make this bass sound not so "Klacky" But you will need new strings and a set up.

Hate fret buzz. Set it up properly before demonstrating please.

Sounds like a nice Bass, but nothing beats a 2 band Stingray whether it is a Pre EB or an EB Classic. When I bought my Classic I wanted it to sound like a Stingray and not a combination of other Basses.

Does anyone like to hear the frets buzz on every note they play? Sounds bad. Most of the time you’d set a bass up to not buzz. That’s not a good “tone” that’s junk.

To be completely honest, I own a 2001 Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 5H that I love and (at least based on this recording) the Special sounds completely different: polite and lifeless. I went to my local Guitar Center and tried one and while I appreciated the lighter weight of the Special, the tone was simply lacking. For $1,800 or more, I would expect something stupendous.

There are so many different Music Man stingrays, how is anyone supposed to know which is the right one for them? You can’t trial them all in-stores either... if you were to leave a fender P-bass for a Music Man, but still was after something for an alternative rock band sound where would you start? Pick playing only

i'm still in awe of the tone from the first position and queen demo, the ability to dial out the zing rays are known for is uncanny. I literally had to bust out my stingray 5 to replicate it. But now of course i want a ray 4 HH

Found this video 2 years later and I just picked up the Sterling 34HH bass yesterday and I fell in love. I've owned many solid guitars over the years, but never a bass until now. I love the pearl white finish. Nice video

Damn! I love the tones of the music man Stingray soooo much, that I gutted my sterling Ray4, so that it sounds exactly like this. Aguilar 3band push pull Eq, and a Seymour Duncan pickup, is like the perfect combo, if you’re looking for this sound on a budget Bass. lol
