Thanks for the tips! Great video
Ответитьwiseguy, thanks watch& comment. tamper is not needed, car- truck works better.useing tamper 1/2 the cold patch sticks to bottom of tamper, screws up the patch, u could sprinkle cement powder to keep from sticking, but then i need a bag of cement, just more hassle the car or truck rolling over to compact works best. i had a tamper in the truck that day and did use this it for the edge patches where the truck tire cud'nt reach. i try to make videos so average woman can do, keep simple thx!
ОтветитьLoved the video. You asked for comments so here goes. The two things I would have liked to see, is a shot of the cold patch "beveled and leveled". I'm a visual person. LOL The other thing is some advise on best weather conditions when applying. I'm writing an article for a small town that used cold patch after their sewer repairs and had to go back and redo them because some had curled edges. Some were fine. Trying to figure out what went wrong and if it was due to weather conditions.
ОтветитьDragonbutterfly2012, i would think a warm sunny day would be best, sometimes you have to do it when you can, like you after a repair,no control of weather, usually on back of the asphalt bag, there will be a diagram of the beveled & leveled shape, take a look, there would prob also be recos as to application temp and what-not, always read instructions and watch my vids thanks for the comment, you pay attention!
ОтветитьYa I do pay attention, that's a big part of being a reporter. LOL
ОтветитьI'd rather use the car too. Why use a tamper when you have a car? No sore muscles the next day!
ОтветитьThank you! Cheap and easy!
ОтветитьI was just waiting for: "Excuse me sir, could you leave our parking lot?" ;) Great work!
ОтветитьIt's just a temporary fix until the inevitable: Repaving is going to be needed soon.
ОтветитьThanks Dino
ОтветитьHey Dino, check out my two pothole videos I posted, and lets do espresso one day.
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьThanks. Been in the trade 28 years and never did this before. You saved me purchasing a tamp and liquid tar for binding the patch. Now I know. Doing a credit union in michigan today
ОтветитьHow busy is the restaraunt?
ОтветитьI agree in NOT using the tamper. I have just done it with a piece of 4x2 plywood over it and slowly I rolled the car over about 8 times. The result is a much smoother and leveled surface. You cannot get that result with the tamper, not mentioning the work involved. Many of the harsh comments are done by peoples who didn't even do it.
ОтветитьThanks for the advice man.
ОтветитьInteresting, thanks. Didn't think the joke was much related to the topic at hand, but the rest of the video was great.
ОтветитьLove your videos. Always helpful & entertaining. Thanks!
ОтветитьThanks, Dino!
ОтветитьSo dont you need proper compaction wheres your plate compactor and no tack adhesive inside the holes shoti work
Ответитьcould I pave an entire section of a driveway (24"x16') with "cold patch" and have it be durable?
Ответитьgo to my channel too, alex flores ......you are looking for teacher alex Tijuana videos
ОтветитьBoss just asked me if i knew anything about repairing potholes and i didn't until i saw this. thanks for the awesome video. now he doesn't have to take time teaching me. I'll learn my sense of humor elsewhere if you don't mind...lol :P
ОтветитьI moved to this lot in my trailer park 20 years ago, and the asphalt driveway was in bad shape even then. I was too poor and uneducated to know what to do. I now have a way to fix that thing up before the winter, and maybe save myself from some scrapes when working under the car. Thanks, and you can bet I'll be watching your other videos , too!
ОтветитьThe joke was great! I knew I liked your video the moment you told your joke!
ОтветитьJolly Fisherman & Steak House?
Ответитьlittle tip, use a shop vac to clean the holes then pour water on it , come back in a day when shes dry, use a propane torch to evaporate any remaining water, put the cold patch to er and put a piece of 1/2 inch ply over and run it over, if you want to make sure the cold patch doesn't stick to the play put a little diesel on the ply, Vaseline can work too
ОтветитьYou make it seem so easy. So dumb question(s): any reason to square the hole before adding the cold patch? How far back should I open the hole if the surrounding driveway has some cracks, or do I just pull out the loose stuff and patch ... then seal the rest of the driveway?
ОтветитьThis guy is awesome
Ответитьholy fucking shaking camera
ОтветитьYou are clueless this is not the proper way to do a good patch!!!!
ОтветитьIt would help if the camera showed what you are doing. The hole is out of view on my computer at least.
