Hi everyone! This is Top 3D Shop, and in this video we’ll tell you about the Anycubic Kossel Plus FDM 3D-printer.

Kossel Plus is the improved version of the Kossel Pulley 3D printer. The key difference of the new model is that the developers replaced pulleys with linear guide rails and increased the build volume.

Anycubic engineers borrowed the Delta design of the printer from the Kossel model, created in 2012 by Johann Rocholl as a part of the RepRap project. This idea initially led to the creation of the Kossel Pulley printer, whose levers travelled along the guides on pulleys.

The Delta 3D printer comes disassembled. The main components are neatly packed - triangular units of the frame, guide rails, a control unit, an extruder with fixed levers, a feeder mechanism, a print bed and a power supply unit.

Seasoned enthusiasts and professionals will be able to assemble and prepare Kossel Plus for operation in just 2-3 hours.

Before the first printjob, the device has to be calibrated. To calibrate the extruder, you will need to install a special nozzle with a magnetic mount.

During the procedure, the extruder passes through 69 points on the bed surface. The measured deviations will be taken into account when printing. Automatic calibration isn't necessary though, you can do it manually.

The spool holder is located on the right side of the printer. The filament passes through the feeder, and then through the bowden tube and finally, gets inside the extruder.

Traditionally, Anycubic 3D printers come with a Cura slicing software. However, you can use any available software to prepare your models for printing.

The finished g-code can be transferred either via a direct USB connection or using an SD card, which is more convenient.

The use of linear rails instead of pulleys significantly increases the stability of printing and repeatability compared to the previous model.

According to the manufacturer, this solution allows you to maintain high print accuracy even if you do a lot of printing - the device will serve you for a long time, and adjustment and maintenance are required much less often.

It is known that such a design increases the noise level of the machine when operating. It makes sense to install Kossel Plus in workshops, but not in bedrooms or recreation areas.

The printing platform is rigidly fixed and heats up to 100 degrees. Its diameter - when compared with the previous version of the printer - increased by 50 mm.

Besides the printer itself, the package contains: a filament spool, a tool kit, grease for guide rails, an SD card, a card reader, a USB cable, gloves.

On the Anycubic website, the manufacturer notes that almost 80% of the build work for the printer is already complete. It's true, but potential buyers and users need to consider that delta printers can be a bit more complicated to assemble and configure than classic solutions with Cartesian design.

In general, Anycubic Kossel Plus is an excellent solution for advanced users who need high accuracy and print stability with sufficient productivity and a relatively small size.
