What a throwback to back when people still thought the Souls control scheme was bad. There's always a neat transition between people thinking the controls are bad to realizing that they're brilliant and revolutionary (minus the running jump in the earlier games)

This was far too frustrating to watch man. At least learn the basics of a soul game. Cakez did a much better job. This was just annoying and frustrating.

Ok, how is asking if you know how to run a spoiler? It's a basic game mechanic. I get that you don't want to be spoiled but it went a bit far many times. I actually ended up not enjoying the video as much because of it and stopped watching 2.5 hours in, which is incredibly rare for me to do.

Well, so much for that starting gift, haha. I put Divine Blessings in the "too good to use" category, or at least too rare to use, so I was kinda horrified. :D

Edit#2: Fucking with those transient curses is a HUGE monkaS, IIRC there's only around 8 of 'em that can be picked up (some pretty well hidden), along with around four that can be purchased from the female merchant. If you use all those up and don't get a drop of some more (and the only enemies that drop them are ghosts!), you are kind of in bad shape, especially if you are new to the game, which you are if you managed to get into that predicament. So new players potentially could be forced to get themselves cursed and fuck with this annoying area with half health OR try to run past the ghosts, which is arguably worse, especially when you don't know your way around. One of the biggest dick moves in the game IMO.

I have NEVER seen the Asylum Demon jump up and attack the player like that. The fact that it was after Carl tried running away really made it seem like the demon was saying "Don't run from me! I still want to play!"

I must give credit to Carl for sticking to the horrible sorceries. Magic is horrible in this game and it did gave me some laughs. I just hope he learns it doesn't pay off and switches at least to a hybrid build melee for close combat.

I have just discovered that Carl is playing DS:R and my prediction is that he sees it the same way I do: A really big MM2 troll level

Not to be a snob but if you are running out of Soul Arrows why don't you buy some more? You have seen that the blacksmith is selling them about 5 times now.

My favorite part about this is that he looked at the dragon and said “I’m not supposed to go this way.”

But this game is clever. It’ll let you do what you want but eventually it brings you around to the point where the dragon is the only reasonable option left. Such phenomenal design

This game, specifically, captures the vibe of Berserk really well. It's dark, it's bleak, the world itself just feels rotten -- but there's a bit of absurdity to it, as well. It's self-aware and knows how to incorporate just enough "goofy" elements to balance out the gloominess. Asylum Demon would be right at home in the manga: he's intimidating as all hell, but he also looks kind of ridiculous, with his gigantic ass and oversized hammer.

2000 soul is like, 20 Geo.
