Ah quintillions of strange alien like creatures of the deep. There is 5 trillion 🐠, but rest of sealife is holy shit massive only insects outnumber all life with an estimated 50+ quintillion. Deep sea life is fascinating, beautiful, ugly and amazing. My 2 passions is electronic engineering which I did but marine biology, Arachnology, entomology, cats, and all my favorite 🐦 of prey 🦅, falcons, 🦉, hawks.

You should go lightly on the "unsuspecting prey" and on words like menacing, lurking, terrifying, and the like. Those fish are weird, true enough, but quite adapted to a challenging environment, where competition is fierce and food scarce. Besides, most of them are rather small, so much for the awe and terror. We should instead admire Nature’s creativity and diversity, and respect it.

Bioluminescence in deep sea isn't too crazy. They really buried the lead w the angler. Their procreating style is bar none craziest shit ever! Solid answer to the extremophile survival questions, tho.
